So our Silky longboy bit the dust the other day, and I thought I would still be able to find one. I looked high and low, and could not find any online. Does someone know where I can order one outside of the US? It is the ultimate saw to keep in the lift with us for deadwooding, etc.
Yes..the trucked worked a little too well.
What I mean is that once we found out how nice just loading brush into a truck with the grapple was, we sold our chipper and have been just using it as a brush and log truck. So the combo feature is awesome, but we are not using it.
I am taking...
Nice car! I personally run a 2019 crew cab F150, it is amazing how versatile it is. It always surprises me how much I use it for showing older clients around on their larger properties when I am out bidding jobs. Also it doubles as a family vehicle, taking the crew out to lunch, and pulling a...
We have been waiting on a sk1050 since last March, still don't know when we will have it. I also have a sk900 ordered. I will have 2 used 1050s for sale as soon as I get them delivered!
FYI make sure you have the drive controls switched to your preference before you have it delivered, if you...
We actually ordered one, waited a month for it, and then drove 2 hours to pick it up because the local Kubota dealer was not large enough to get one.
I think they have the best 36" wide track design on the market and the machine seemed to be quite well designed.
But we used it 2 days, and...
Very well said, and I do appreciate the insight. Bid the jobs right, and make sure your guys know you have their back. Encourage teamwork, and do your best to eliminate frustrations on the job!
I agree, but I will add another angle to look at small jobs.
Small jobs can still be profitable even with lots of equipment. First off, if it requires all of the equipment that is needed on the larger jobs a decent minimum should be required. Then these jobs get scheduled with other larger...
I agree with this thought. We have to stay competitive, but we must know what our equipment costs are. I have found that as I have made purchases to increase our efficiency, the hourly rate does go up even if the bid for the job stays the same. Bidding jobs with factoring in new equipment...
This is our grapple that we have customized and we are custom building these as either mini or fullsize, ASV or bobcat plates. This one is 4' width, and we can build them up to 6'. We have the rope bollard on top, and it is an awesome combination rake/grapple. It is heavy, but it is very...
We put 1800 hrs on our last SD64 in 3 years, and had very minimal trouble with it. I feel that for what the cost is versus it's capabilities, it is a very good value.
And regarding the controls not handling the weather, why would you store a machine that costs that much out in the weather...
We use Jobber for time tracking on jobs, but Open Time Clock is what we use for clocking in and out for the day. It is web and app based, and fairly simple to use. Also, my accountant can log in and pull the hours for payroll after I review and approve them.
