Okay, just to be sure I'm following what you're saying, are you talking about the top plate angle, or the tilt of the file.
A 10 degree top plate angle is utilized in milling chains, and most other chains are 25-30 degrees. As for the tilting of the file(not parallel to the top plate), 10...
Never seen 10%, not that I doubt something could have. Lots has happened I'm not aware of, heck, I've never seen it called for on the stihl chain, but the picture is right there lol. As I like to say when I learn something new, "I'm still alive" :).
What type of chain?
If so, that's way off, but also what I thought he meant since he mentioned it effecting the gullet. Most times I do another step to file/grind the gullet when a chain is new, when it gets back a bit the file/grinder will remove it, at least in the case of round filing/grinding.
According to the...
Exactly.
Not that we can't modify/tune them, and we should.
That's what most guys do.
Many grinders will not do the 10 degrees.
The husky roller guides have the 10 degrees built in, that's why they have arrows on them telling which way it should be pointed...
That's not a long bar for a 70cc saw.
They actually updated the case since they came out, adding to the weight. I've had many of them myself, just ran the one I currently own yesterday with a 32" in white pine and it did great(has an aftermarket muffler cover). This one I bought off a friend in...
I've found their covers to be more prone to clog, not less. A lot of the weight has been removed from the cases, hence the reason many of the 462's are cracking at the bar studs when running longer bars.
Found a shrew and this guy the other day, but bees are all I'm concerned with. We have fire ants here in Michigan and you don't want to disturb them, but they have easy to see/avoid mounds so they have never been a problem.
Permethrin is good for keeping ticks off you, but I'm a minimalist when...
I use it often as my tractor will only lift pieces that are under 1100lbs or to get rounds that are too big around to fit into the buck, then I can lift them onto the splitter. For the most part though, if I can't lift it onto the splitter it's too big as it will tip the splitter(I only split...
Last week this cherry limb came down while I was working on the barn out front.
The tree it came out of can be seen behind it, it flipped over on the way down, that had me confused as I saw it hit the ground and couldn't think of a "tree" that size coming from that direction. The tree it came...
Nice looking saw Tom ;).
Don't you have a 24".
If not I'd consider buying one as it will give you a lot more reach and help you avoid having to roll them as much.
Before cross cutting them I would also "noodle" them, cut them from the bark side in towards the middle or the other side(not cutting...
Got it.
Thanks for the reply.
I wear gloves most times so that's not a big problem, but I was wondering as it would be nice to have a rope specifically for when it's real hot.
Have a great day.
Never had a problem with mine, have it on the 192 rear handle, and on a 201cm rear handle, I've always liked it. Good to have a spare around if you need it, I would just grab another saw.
Hope you're doing well.
The head studs may have been done on the motor since that was replaced. I'd guess since you keep everything up to Cali standards the EGR delete hasn't been done.
Here's a video about bullet proofing them.
Not that these motors can't go a good distance without them being BP, it just makes them...
