I saw this a while back:
I know the name of our game is efficiency. This isn't nearly as efficient as a loader, but might be good for the right situation. Fewer cuts and less lifting is always a good thing as long as it doesn't take way too much time. I often think that something would be...
Yeah, the buck arch is listed at 71 pounds on logrite's website. I'm not sure what they were weighing. A couple tires and the handle maybe? Haha. It's not 250 pounds, but it's definitely not the same weight as an arbor trolley either. I think the weight for the freight was 237 pounds, but...
The arbor trolley is well worth the money. I use it on almost every job, except for the ones right by the curb. I load it up with my climbing bag and rigging gear for the first trip to the tree to save a little extra energy. It saves me a lot of time and energy dragging too. You can also...
I like your setup. I've been thinking about a winch for the front of my trailer. I have pulled some big logs up my ramps with my fiddle block, but a winch would be better for that.
Are you a one man show? Do you haul all of your logs in your chipper truck?
I bought a log arch a few...
Yeah, aside from saws, the AT was one of my first purchases. Definitely a lifesaver.
I read on a tips and tricks thread a few months ago about the PVC pipe, it just keeps slipping my mind until I'm actually on a job and could use it.
Did I mention I don't have a bucket?
Here are some pictures of a black locust I did today. I forgot to take before pictures, but remembered once I got down to the hardest stem. Thankfully, I didn't have to climb it at all. Everything was done from the roof by setting ropes with a throw line...
I agree- well done. The video was aptly named.
I saw my old boss rig a couple of huge chunks from his bucket truck in a similar fashion out of necessity. That is definitely not ideal, but I only ever saw that once in five years of working for him.
Blair did add some captions to the video...
Hi, DruidCarol! Can we still lob a few logs at you?
If so, here is my website: www.PowellsTreeCare.com. I made my website last May and think I am on the verge of making the front page of Google. I was nowhere in the search results for a long time, but last week when I checked, I was showing...
Yeah that's kind of what I was thinking. A single bolt in that X looked like it could just push the boards out and collapse. Now that I look at it though, there is an extra board at the base, so that shouldn't be a problem.
I guess I'm just used to cutting off all of the weight that I can...
I came across these the other day. The first was on craigslist. I guess it's not as bad as I initially thought- I think I can see a climbing line now. At first, I thought he was out there with just a lanyard...
The second, I was looking for a picture of cabling and bracing and this popped up...
