    Refusing irresponsible tree work

Ive refused a job where a woman tried to get me to destabilize her black cherry by cutting the roots so it would fall on her neighbor's property. lot of good stories about her. I blocked her number.

    Looking at a Vermeer 552

Bumping this because of the vcs teeth. They do stay sharp longer and cut very well. However, you can’t install them with an impact even on low setting because they will break. Torqued down to 156 foot pounds with a torque wrench. Knowing that now will save me some sweat. I am going to...

I did offer to bring a diamond blade and cut it, then smash it with a sledgehammer but they wanted it done on the bubble.

    Looking at a Vermeer 552

about 10 years ago i did a bunch of removals and grinding at watch hill (taylor swift's hood) and there was a hung piece of ledge under a stump. I went through 10 teeth and got the whole stump done but there was a three cubic feet of rock sticking out of the ground and the people wanted me to...

    Looking at a Vermeer 552

I like how there's easily replaceable wear plates on the wheel. The teeth have two sides to them so they can be flipped. I'm on the coast so there's nothing but rocks and ledge.

It came with the VCS wheel system. Not completely hyped about that since tooth replacement is 30 bucks a pop but Jeff's Sharpening is about to start sharpening the carbide and he said they're on their way to re-tipping them.

Bump, This machine is great. 30 percent more power than my carlton but more than twice the production. Changed all the filters in less than an hour and I'm impressed. So far I give this machine an A+

Let’s talk about hook lift trucks

The tag axel is great if you can add it after you buy the truck new. Having one on a new build will force you to pay excise tax on the truck. It's a lot of money. Just add it after.

    Leak on ditch witch 1050

    Leak on ditch witch 1050

We have a minor hydraulic leak on one of the inlet hoses to the pump. I’m not sure why there’s two inlet hoses but we tried to tighten the hose clamp and it was tight like tiger. Started when it got real cold. I thought it was like coolant hoses when they shrink in the cold weather. Any ideas or...

    Best chainsaw pants for longevity

A cheap pair that won’t last isn’t very cheap. I’d rather spend more money for something that lasts. These guys don’t climb.

    Best chainsaw pants for longevity

I’m outfitting my three workers with chainsaw pants since they hem and haw about chaps. Im concerned about them not lasting long with dragging brush. I was recommended the dogwoods from arborwear but some reviews have panned them for ripping on brush.
