    Sena SMH-10R

I have a spare SMH-10R, AKA “10 slim”. Brand new battery purchased from revzilla after it became a spare unit so it’s got zero use on the battery! What you see is what you get, not the complete install kit but everything you need to make it work in your helmet. Also has a stand alone battery...

    Climbing Ensemble Cost

I easily have 4-5kof personal gear in my work truck. That’s all my climbing gear and a few pieces of personal rigging gear (work supplies nearly all rigging equipment we need but I’m picky lol). Hell I wrap $1k worth of clothing / PPE on my body every day and that’s not counting a single piece...

    T540I chain

Could you post the husky PN for the sprocket? My local Husqvarna dealer tried and failed (they have an especially bad parts staff) and then I ordered one from bailey's I thought was correct but it was just the OEM 043 sprocket too. I hear you when you say it sucks, but some lessons I need to...

About retrieving that SRT line....somewhere, I heard it was easy.

I was gonna suggest you set a retrivable friction saver at your main tie in point then knot-block the rope in that so it pulls redirects almost frictionless when you're done but then I got to thinking about how it's probably hard to pull natty crotch redirects with a knot tied (or a retrieval...

    Garage sale of climbing gear.

@Acerxharlowii that appears to be it with the zig zag, I believe that color is called "Tropical Ivy" but it's the exact same rope.

    climbing pet peeves

For me it's when they leave it in the porty then walk away to untie it first leaving it wrapped! My preferred method is finish the lower, unwrap bollard, untie. I don't have to deal with what you're saying cause I always keep a spike in the line on my side of the block/whatever rigging point...

Seeing as we're tree guys, not sparkies, I can only assume you're referring to bandaids?

Assessment standards for arborists (climbing trees)

The problem is that the little non legitimate outfits are always going to have a market because their selling direct to unknowing / cheap / whatever homeowners just looking for the lowest bid and not having to adhere to, or even care or know about any standards. There is never going to be an...

Minimizing the dreaded carabiner and pulley flop...suggestions?

What's the point of being double tied in while you actively advance up your main line? Positioning is one reason like if you're not climbing straight up but if it's just for backup /redundancy it's not needed. That is assuming your TIP isn't questionable, as a rec climber you shouldn't be...

Husqvarna 540i xp (best “package” deal)

Do you have a part number or anything else to go on? The website specs it with exactly the same SP21G "325 mini" chain that comes on the t540i, is this an aftermarket (well OEM, but non-standard) kit you have to buy? Cause I'll buy it right fucking now. Square vs round doesn't concern me, I'd...

Husqvarna 540i xp (best “package” deal)

No local dealer recommendations but to answer your chain question there's currently no other chain types available.. You can convert it to 1/4 pitch with a panther bar and run stihl quarter pitch full chisle but for the full size (.325 micro) only that semi chisle, extra raker safety chain shit...

    Boom question

Altec or terex? If he was running the upper boom when he bent it I might be more inclined to wait for the inspection, of it was the lower boom that he was cranking on it with I'd probably fly it.

    Breakaway lanyards

Yeah I got what it stood for, just suggesting that anything a keychain / toy says should be suspect... I was putting under 50lbs on the pull rope, considering losses no way the keychain carabiner was even seeing 225lbs and it severely deformed. Thats what I meant when I said "whatever that...

    Breakaway lanyards

It's stamped "SWL 225" whatever that means. We pulled on one with a 5:1 expecting it to take a bunch of weight but it probably didn't take 50lbs of input pull to break it and honestly for that purpose that's still more than I'd like.

Retrieval Line in SRT - Thoughts, recommendations, lessons to share?

I use 5mm acc cord (regular 1200lb acc cord, not ultra cord) cause I can fit 150' of it in a small Weaver line mug and weighs in under a pound. Sewed an eye in one end for smoother retrieval. I use it at work some but where I really use it is rec climbing (where I typically have a long hike in...

Cool Source for Webbing, Buckles, etc...

I've been thinking of converting mine, did you do your own? I'm running a self-wired 220v wall outlet for mine now and it works but modern USA 220 is 60Hz where it calls for 50Hz. That fact plus the safety concern of having a regular looking plug running at 220 makes me consider conversion...
