Odyssey with Champion log splitter issue

I went to a couple auto parts places yesterday to get a replacement filter; Advance said they could not match it up, Auto Zone did a google search and thought they found a match but the filter started to blow out on me, leak, so I stopped running the machine until I install a good filter...

Odyssey with Champion log splitter issue

After my brother used the silicone to seal the leaks; I did a job today where the hydraulic hose held on by hose clamps blew out. Customer who runs his own sportswear company and lives in Westchester, NY and likes to gather wood for annual splitting was actually quite kind about the disaster...

    Covid Close To You

I wasn't permanently weakened with a bout a couple months ago. Sometimes staying healthy, losing weight when needed are not easy things to do. I got the initial two shots of Moderna but determined not to get any more once the vaccine injury reports started coming in with the very poor quality...

    Ego chainsaw

Home Depot, worked there and saw their propaganda on the electric equipment such as EGO chain saws and leaf blowers. Strictly for the homeowner. Btw, what kind of reviews are the EFI carbs getting that Husqavarna and Stihl have been using?

Odyssey with Champion log splitter issue

My older brother said he was using some type of silicone adhesive and would finish with Gorilla tape and if it keeps leaking or the 4 plus inch gap gets worse then will step it up to tougher stuff. It's his unit.

So sounds like JB Weld would be the best option at this point, vibration always is a concern, carting it around and running it.

Odyssey with Champion log splitter issue

Around a month ago I had a Champion 27 ton log splitter on a job and it stopped working, the control valve would not engage. I think I had it in forward gear, and then suddenly it shot out to almost the very end of the reach they go to when they are working. Mystery as to what the cause was...

    Covid Close To You

Sister in Spain in the tour guide business who had a head cold or other covid related sickness recently that hit her hard, and was better in a week. I feel very badly for those who are still dealing with this. Another older sister has been living in a nursing home now since 2019 because...

    Covid Close To You

There is too much at stake for them to end the emergency; ie legal liabilities. A bunch of countries have ended any mandates especially for the young and investigations are under way. Journalist Alex Berenson is a good one to follow on his Substack and Twitter; also Dr. Robert Malone on...

    Champion splitter failure

A hydraulic repair shop said they had a number of Champion and similar units come in but couldn't get parts. Technical support told me they do have the parts; so there seems to be a gap between the mechanics and owners that can be filled through determined customers but Champion is the only...

    Champion splitter failure

I spoke with Champion technical support today that is sending out cylinder seals and a few other parts gratis, others I'll pay for but reasonable. They are doing a new 27 ton unit now without throttle adjustment. My brother bought one for around $1400 (they honored the old price plus a 10%...

    Champion splitter failure

Probably have split 200 or more cords in 4 1/2 years. Mistake has been not changing fluids especially hydraulic in a timely fashion. As the Champion tech guy said the oil gets brown and acidic and problems develop. Timberwolf seems to be popular professionally. My brother is sold on the...

    Champion splitter failure

Very busy time of year for Champion log splitters and their power equipment. I spoke with one of their technical guys yesterday on equipment failure. I was on a job last week and the control valve was not moving the piston. It was engaged forward and then suddenly shot out all the way, two...

    Covid Close To You

Not a "conspiracy" when all the incentives are moving toward pushing something with the media being paid over a billion in 2021 to push the vaccines and no liability. If you have zero economic benefit in challenging something and on the other side there is nothing but benefit the conflicts of...

    Current market for firewood?

I was working for a customer last week who said he had recently paid over $4.50 a gallon for fuel oil and he called back and was quoted $5.50 by an independent supplier who was also saying he was rationing supply to 50-100 gallons at a time! I've split wood for him and he said he needs 10 cords...

    Covid Close To You

I've kept up with all the available data and it is quite unflattering to the health agencies and vaccine/drug producers. Watch/listen/read what Dr. Peter McCullough and Dr. Paul Marik have been saying, they are the most published doctors in their fields who actually treat many patients on the...

    I’m done

I ran into a younger guy from Vermont earlier; sounded like he had recently split 100 cords with a Timberwolf. Said Vermont was booming, he looked like he was working too hard and lacking sound thinking which seems typical, ie to be too much in demand, not enough proper rest, supportive social...
