I've had the Clogger Spider pants for about 1 and a half years now, time to say what I think about them.
Let me start with the construction, they're made out of a 4 way stretch ripstop material for most part, with very durable and abrasion resistant reinforcements around the cuff and the shins...
Your welcome. I noticed today it's actually not the belay loop connection that pinches me, it is just the side of the leg loop. Same difference though, the cause is the same. Something else I want to add, the padding on the leg loop can move around and work it's way out from under your leg, not...
Thanks both of you. The tuning chart certainly might come in handy, but I was looking for something more like the service manuals Stihl has, does Echo not have those?
Never had the belay loop catch on anything, and I don't see that happening really. It is very hand for positioning on a spar though.
My issues on spurs mainly come from the side D's they dig into my sides, and they are al little far back for my taste, although the harness is the right size for...
I have used the old one a little bit, it was alright, but the legpads were basically just the webbing, the padding did nothing. The option of a certified adjustable bridge is nice, but the rings as lower D's are not great. If it's cheap I'd get it, but definitely not as my main saddle. I have a...
This is the Courant Cross Pro XL, I love it so far. Missing a couple of things in there right now, a sirius, and a handled ascender and my foot ascender. All of those still fit in the mesh sides. The main compartment can still fit a 60m 10.5mm rope, or my helmet, or my Sequoia. Without the spurs...
It's great so far, only had it for a week now, that's why it's still clean. Fits the TM, Distel Spurs, and I could easily toss in a 30m 10.5mm rope I use on spars, or my helmet in the main compartment. Or the TM and the Sequoia. And you can see what else fits in there in the picture.
I thought...
Yep, TM makes that super easy.
I don't want to steal the credit, I got tye idea with the pins from arborixx rope pins, they show that as a use, but I'm not paying 10€ for one aluminum pin with a hole and some bungee. And the 8mm beech dowel is plenty strong for lanyard storage.
Yep, best lanyard management I've found for me so far. I hate long loops, and three pins keep my 4m lanyard nicely squared away. You can double up a pin for a longer one, I have a 7m lanyard too. The one on the right is from when I had a long adjustable bridge on the TM, to keep that tail out of...
Don't really use them often anymore, it used to be for storage of the harness, I would clip the leg loops to the gear loops, kept them flat and out of the way, then the harness sat over a rope bag.
I habe the Courant Cross Pro XL now, so my storage is different. And much better. Other uses are...
Try using the search function on here, look for saddle setups, treemotion, etc. lots of good stuff im a couple of threads.
That being said, this is my setup, minimal on the gear loops, only added two small ones behind the side D's, heavy on the caritools though.
That makes sense, however it should be a non issue, because it's not really used in that configuration much, except maybe when advancing, basically using it as a lanyard. On a spar, you shouldn't just pass it around and clip back in, because you can't descend that way.
If using ATC style devices, or anything that the rope doesn't travel through in a straight line, the best course of action is to put weight on the tail, that will stop someone. On a multicender however, that will not do anything.
I don't know what a Caribbean Run Down is, but you have to take into consideration the type of descender used. Say you're coming down on a figure 8, or anything that puts a sharp bend in the rope, you can get yourself to stop with your brake hand (or a bottom belay). The accident in question was...
