I picked some up for a smoking deal at TCIA a few years back. Out of the box it was nice and supple, tied/untied knots well, but was a bit too bouncy for me at the time. I only used it a handful of times, then gifted it to a friend.
Ended up getting 14 4x8’x1/2” mats from Wright Environmental. Minor freight debacle, but Sean was more than generous making it right by me. Great product, and a game changer for yard access.
Most drive through lube places top off while you wait. Now I’m not suggesting you get your vehicles maintained at these places, but they’ll probably fill up your jug/s cheap if you ask.
I sent some rope to a guy @levi r (maybe) on the buzz. Wrapped it really neatly in a heavy trash bag, taped it well, and sent USPS. The costs were not as bad as expected from what I remember.
You said there is “crane access” sorta? You also mentioned a skidder winch could do it? Spitball here: what about a large wrecker winch? I don’t know if you got those kind of tow trucks in your region. But the big wreckers that recovery tractor trailers up in the mountains here is what I’m...
Yeah…. The only plus I see to getting the narrower is they would have fit in between the service body on one of the trucks if I chose to load out that way….
is it a horrible idea to get 3’ wide matts for a 3’ wide machine? I think it would be annoying….. but transportation/install would be much easier than the 4’ wide. Advice please.
One minor annoyance of mine with the ZZ for a crane configuration is having to feed all the rope back through for each crane ball flight… I just use the RRP for daily driver and does great for crane work IMO.
The close proximity to ski resorts part: In my experience that wrecks the rental and/or housing market and its prices…. What is the average one bedroom rental going for?
are you just wrapping the winch line around the materials, and hooking back to the winch line? And it’s getting damaged in that process? If this is the case, create yourself some “choker” style sling to hook to the long line (theses will inevitably get tore up too).
I share the same sentiment. But I am curious where your buying your Arb gear from at the price comparisons you’ve mentioned? I’ve found prices are typically pretty even wherever I’ve looked (not counting sale codes etc).
