    One handled chainsaw use

Along way from brilliant actually, thanks anyway.....at least I do try to stay grounded, and would never be so arrogant as to believe, let alone say that I know whats best for all the other individuals in my field of work.

Never thought the day would come that I'd start a one handling thread.

    Dying fir

Thanks all. Not a 201....although I hear the newest versions are a big improvement. I actually managed to source 3 x 200Ts over the last year. All used but have years of life left. I am very pleased about it too. A simple tree really, but I had a feeling it'd make for some nice video.

A tall skinny one from this morning out in Sooke BC. We measured it at 160. No wind at least. Use HD setting

First off you can reduce the slack caused whe the log folds by setting the block as close to the face cut as possible, and making sure you don't cut the undercut too deep. The deeper the undercut, the more slack is created. Another thing is when you route the line through the bollard. The...

Sorry for not answering sooner. I've been away for a week. He definitely could've let some of them run a little further.....but they still travelled enough. If you watch the rope run through the bollard, rather than the falling log, you can see they mostly run quite a ways. It's just having the...

    Competition Climbing and Tree Work

Steve, Re: your first post. They were never your friends to start with, evidently. Better to find out sooner than later. I don't believe doing well or even partaking in competitions makes a person snooty. They were probably just dick heads all along but had yet to find an outlet for it. If you...

    New article up ....

Kevin, I think some people shouldn't do treework, period. And there's countless situations that they could get hurt or even die through their own shortcomings, that rank above one handling a saw, in my book at least. One handling a saw and not hurting yourself in the process does not represent a...

    New article up ....

I was just watching this vid actually Aug....and then flicked across to anti one handling sillyness as distraction from what I just saw. You should watch to, seriously. Then go hug your little ones...

    New article up ....

Havent really got much energy for it, Rog. I think limb walking should be banned....maybe spurring too. Cranework, stormwork, falling entire trees perhaps. Using heavy saws even. In fact, anything where natural aptitude, intuition, ability and experience may dictate a strategy....ban it, and...

It was called hip-thrusting, with good reason Paul. Half assed indeed, literally. Well said.

    Swing chest harness

Paul. Great job. I will never be without it from here onwards. No rubbing or irritation; no breathing restrictions nor choking risk. Light as a feather, don't even know Im wearing it. Tends my hitch beautifully. The best system I've used by far. Thanks again
