    Squirrel Damage

On my original reply I was thinking that there has to be a birth control option. Even just live traps, and a carefully placed rubber band on the males would make a difference. A few less nuts might make a few less squirrels?

    New device from ISC

In regards to any potential patent infringement Petzl likely doesn’t care because when it comes down to it the Zigzag will likely always outsell the ISC device because of one thing: Price. Also, it is comparatively simple and more suited for less technically minded folks: new climbers and...

    Enhancing Fall energy absorption

ART has the Snake Anchor and the Snake Tail which both are designed to have the pockets blow at 2.5 kn? Great tools both for basal anchors and in canopy use.

    Squirrel Damage

https://goodnature.co/products/a18-squirrel-trap-kit No projectile, no poison. Just a dead squirrel. I’m going to get one of their models for ground squirrels next year. In our area this year we saw a lot of squirrel damage on the oak trees. They looked splotchy with orange leaves in...

    New device from ISC

I climb on a Zigzag every day. I used to climb on the plus with the swivel but now I just love the one without. I just really like the simplicity of it and not having that extra length and motion.

    New device from ISC

It certainly looks intriguing but my initial reaction is to wonder when the first recalls will happen?

    Covid Close To You

Reminds me of the lyrics of the Metallica song My Friend of Misery. You just stood there screaming. Fearing no one would listen to you. The empty can rattles the most. The sound of your own voice must soothe you. Hearing only what you want to hear and knowing only what you’ve heard. You...

    Vandals. Grrr!

I would paint crying eyes on the tree. Maybe the kid has a heart and that will get through to him more than escalating with other reactions.

    Fu*%face Von Clownstick

Posting links is not discourse. It doesn’t show that you have any opinions or understanding of anything that is going on. You are just like watching a video and and think “this is the video that will show everyone what is going on.” Has it ever worked? Write something in your own voice...

Skylining micro-chipper into forested work site...ideas.

And likely worth every penny. We are doing a crane job tomorrow. We totally could do the tree without but the efficiency and minimizing impact on the landscape is sometimes worth the expense.

I’ll comply with that for 1/2-3/4 of the year.

Sean- I’ve got a buddy who installs ziplines and ropes courses. He does long ziplines and high lines with cable to bring in platforms, beams, and things. If you want his contact info let me know.

Adapter for Avant to skid loader or mini?

Zero concern. It is built rock solid. I mostly use mine with a 60” wide tractor bucket for moving chips and stump grindings or for grading after we do big stumps. I also occasionally use it with forks when milling or moving things around at our place.

    Stump clean up efficiency

Sounds like you need to ditch the sub and get your own grinder. Then you can bill for the whole job and make it as efficient as can be.

Adapter for Avant to skid loader or mini?

Avant sells adapter plates that allow you to use your Avant with full size skid steer attachments or with mini skid attachments. I have the full size one so I can use my Kubota tractor buckets and forks with my Avant.

I was in Portland last week for class. There is literally one city block in the entire city where protests are regularly occurring. Numbnuts number one keeps saying the city is burning and that everyone is terrified. The whole class and I were walking to coffee shops, walking to look at trees...

    RIP Jamie Goddard

I spent some time with Jamie at Jambo 1 & 2. What struck me was how generous he was and how much he just loved to have a good time and goof off with the rest of us. Those experiences along with the quality and consistency really helped make me a Yale Ropes guy.

Do you think tree removal gets more focus and attention than other aspects of tree care?

Pruning margins are often way better than removal. And you can only remove a tree once…. Repeat clients are better than one time visits. I love doing removals but I’m trying to build a very diverse reputation with our company.
