Not to get too far in the weeds on this but my brain just works this way. If you were to do a loop splice but instead make it a figure 8, the added friction from additional contact area would take load off the splice. The price of both a loop and figure 8 is more potential for wear on the...
Why not just switch to a static cable? You can always replace it if it gets too snug. That way you don't have to worry. As for the loop, it would have a higher breaking strength than the standard way of installing it I would think so that's a plus.
We usually charge around $800 for a 3/8" cable that is in the 15' or longer range. Usually it is rolled into a package price that includes end weight reduction on the limb(s) in question so that is rarely the total price. If it is a short run and/or smaller cable the price can be as low as $300
We have an '01 F350 crew cab with a 7.3 and a dump insert like yours @Keeth and it pulls a Bandit 250XP and a full box of chips with no problem. The weeble wobble is real though with the dump insert. The 7.3 is just a next level motor.
My uncle is in Rose City. If you are able to take a picture of everything along with a list of what's there it would really help me to know if a trip is in order. I'm in Detroit. You could PM me that stuff or post it in the thread, either way!
I appreciate the background info for context. I myself am of Irish descent(last name is Delaney) so there's a good bit of what you describe that resonates with me. I was speaking about your YouTube presence when referencing image. I would challenge your statement about there being no emotion...
No worries. It's a holiday weekend here in the states and we're doing some backyard camping here in Detroit. We've probably both got better things to do haha
I was not being sarcastic. As for needing to be told the problem in order to help, you're the one who has a problem with the way the BDB exists in the world, not me, so that is for you to express and potentially help address, or just act self-righteous about if that's what suits you. As for...
I have a great idea @Reg. Since you've made it clear that your input on the BDB is offered as help, why don't you borrow one from a Buzzer here and spend a couple hours using it and trying to find problems or ways to improve it? I bet Gordon may even send you one as a tester. If you spent as...
The idea that you "deserve" an answer in this context is problematic. You can ask a question and express a feeling if you don't get an answer you like, but you're not entitled to an answer.
