Add much as possible, I don't forecast milestones/ end points on a schedule.
I can plan the whole job, but not accurately estimate the time. It will be there tomorrow.
Had I finished brushing out the ash for an hour while tired, we could do the wood in the rain today.
Instead, we'll go to...
38" ash dismantle, less than 100'. Small drop zone. Storm damaged and poor pruning over time.
A lot of climber- lowered NC rigging, some POW lowering, drift lining from the rear to the front.
Homeowner cleanup.
Neighbor.
Homeowner is about 6'2".
He put in the entire front and back yard...
I wanted to finish rigging out the brush in a tree today, since I was close to finished after a long stint of a big tree with a small landing zone. The Olympia 5:00 whistle, a holdover from the Olympia Brewery, possibly, blew. I asked how she was doing on steam. OK.
Then, I realized that the...
Decent for sure. 'Human' was a train wreck.
Lots of decent guys have found themselves in foreseeable and preventable safety-compromised situations.
I'm more in the camp of Reg, who I think so eloquently said, No Fuck-it cuts". 3 simple words.
I have a family to go home to. 'No thanks' to...
Mine is homemade.
I have an over-the-shoulder elastic cord doubled-over into a loop, tied with overhand knots forming various options for clip-in pockets. It connects to my ascender with an adjustable foot loop coming off the bottom of the ascender.
Everyone has had a mistake or two.
I work in this market, with these trees, so I'm looking at apples to apples.
A lot comes to judgment, skills and techniques.
I hope he's better that he let's on in the little that I've seen.
An easy option to improve the line- angle of a pull rope is to use floating anchor point as a redirect that can be remotely set and retrieved.
You must mind the rope lengths. If your pulling with a redirect at 20' on a top that's 50' away is a different story than pulling at 50' on a top thats...
@flyingmosstreen I bet you will be able to machine feed well with a hydraulic thumb.
I got a 1-ton mini-x às an experiment and shop yard machine. I'll try mini-x feeding when I get the hydraulic thumb installed.
It's weird.
I just saw another "oh, I shoulda..." video by the same YTer who had screwed up many jobs.
Poor judgment and unprepared.
"Shoulda put a rope in it" instead of trying to push a big top...seems like "I shoulda been prepared with wedges and pounder and not relied on groundworkers to...
