    Avant Thread!

Has anyone had issues with their attachments falling off the plate? Avant is coming back from the shop tomorrow. They couldn't find why it's happening but I lost the bm grapple, avant grapple, and the bm stump grinder the last 2 months. Springs are good, no damage to the plate or attachments...

    Equipment Hauler

We were heavily considering a dovetail truck as a hauler. If properly matched with a trailer you could have rams that go to the trailer deck that allows you to unload "in line". We used these trucks when I did wildland firefighting in Georgia for dozers. It's pretty convenient tbh. If I can...

How do you turn down work?

We generally turn down clients, not jobs. We've fired many clients. No money is worth the headache bad clients bring. I want to trust them with my team, as I hire my team to take care of them. When we have gotten into work that was more work than it seemed worth or something I didn't want to...

    Cmc Truck Upfits

That is a sweet setup. Cmc did the boxes too? Yeah that doesn't look like $30k worth to me at all. Could buy a whole other truck for that. That hitch setup is cool. Was that a before or after thought? It's got to help with backing.

    Cmc Truck Upfits

I finally got a quote for a truck upfit from cmc so the lift could ride on a truck. A little more than $30k for a narrow flatbed seems pretty excessive, especially when a gangster flatbed new and installed is $10-12k. Folks who have been around the upfit, is there anything real special about...

To be fair it took like 6 months for me to start getting mine when I moved and updated the address. Not sure how long you've been waiting since you checked into it.

What's on your mind? TCI Magazine wants to know

This, exactly. One thing I've been learning going through TCIA accreditation process is that we tend to hardly bat an eye regarding holes in our legally binding contracts. The TCIA examples helped me address things I hadn't thought of and helped us design stronger "boundaries" to protect us...

What's on your mind? TCI Magazine wants to know

We've been experimenting with this. I've found it helps to use size as an explanation, much like when targeting deadwood. Our "standard" raking is mowable, 1/4" diameter debris left. This lets people know we're going to clean up the bulk, but there may be mowable fines left. It's eliminated most...

What's on your mind? TCI Magazine wants to know

We've began advertising/selling minimal raking jobs. We'll machine rake and go. Reduces cost (that 5-10% of cleanup takes 25% of the time) and gives another option for flexibility.
