I have a job that I would like to use a crane on but have zero crane experience. Anyone out there (obvious crane experience needed) who would consider a contract job in the south burbs of Chicago one day? I would rely on you for all climbing and expertise for this job and would pay...
I am sorry for another unicender thread. I have a $300 credit at sherrill and am seriously considering the unicender. I have searched the threads and watched plenty of youtube videos, and I am trying to figure out what people are using to connect it up around their chest when limb walking, and...
The ones I like to avoid are the ones when they are calling every number in the phonebook just looking for the lowest price regardless of anything else.

When it was time for me to add a bridge to my master classic, I ordered the replacement bridge for the BF II. It works out great. I could not be happier.

Don\'t leave home without it?
I know every job is different and I know some of you take everything with you every time you go out. But that being said what is your go to rigging kit? The stuff you can fit in a rubbermaid container and can take care of 99% of the jobs?

I really like the 5-11 tech pants. Super comfortable, durable, dry quick, and I can wear them out to dinner! I think they are cheaper than the arborwear tech pants which is why I tried them and I love them.

The National Anthem is awesome. A great tradition...
Lifetime Blackhawks fan and long time season tix holder. Finally paid off last season! This year is a bit of a dissapointment considering last year but I am ok with it as long as we have Lord Stanley for now.

Whiz - you make a good point.
The list of additional reading is pretty long, but the ones that seem to stand out are;
- Arboriculture: Integrated Management of Landscape Trees, Shrubs, and Vines, 4th edition.
- Training Young Trees for Structure and Form
- Manual of Woody Landscape Plants
- An...

I understand your point... And I'm not running down your decision. I just want to throw something out there.
My observation/experience with running a business with beater trucks was this: while working on job sites hardly anyone ever came up to us to ask for a card or estimate. But...
Thanks for the replies and/or offers. I had my first class today and they have provided the ISA Arborists' Certification Study Guide. I did not think they were providing it since this is a free class. I think I will be set with this book and the handouts they provide. Thanks again.
Chris
Thanks for the feedback. After much thought I have decided to stick with my not as big and not as new stuff for at least another year. I was really tempted to bite the bullet but for right now I like not owing any money.
If anyone is interested in the equipment it is still for sale and I got...
I already have my own business in a different location so I am not interested so much in how they did as a business and I will not use their name and #. I would repaint the truck. The price just jumped out at me for the equipment listed. It seemed like something worth looking into just for...

Does this look like something worth looking into to? Not interested in name, number, etc. just equipment. Any thoughs?
Chris
I just started a class to get my arborist certification and they provide a handout for each chapter but I am looking for a little more. I was about to buy the ISA study book and thought maybe I would ask if anyone on here collecting dust they would like to sell, rent, or loan. Not being cheap...
I am about to order a block and tackle set and was looking at both sherrill and wesspur. The one in sherrill is $299 and looks like the one in wesspur for $219. But wesspur also has one for $299, but they call it the large set. Does anyone know how they compare?
Also I am thinking about the...

i dont have a block that will accommodate 3/4 ropes. so i think im gonna get the 3/4 block and sling combo and that way i can still use the block for 5/8's and then have room to move to a 3/4 when things start to get heavier.
