    Independent contract climber

My insurance is through Pekin. I have nothing to compare it to but I don't have any complaints. Chris

    Independent contract climber

I'm in the same situation as Royce almost. It's just me and 2 ground guys, my problem is I cannot find a contract climber. I would imagine if you look at smaller tree services in your area you could get pretty busy pretty quick. I would love to find a guy I could use once a week on a regular...

    Looking for.....

I'm looking at upgrading my chip truck. I'm looking for something in the f550 size range but does not have to be a Ford. I would like automatic (getting to hard to find people to drive otherwise) and I would like something with a 10' box. Trying to keep it at or below $25k. If anyone has any...

    GRCS

GRCS arrived the day after ordering (thanks Treestuff) and I am very impressed. Have not used it for real but set it up and played around a bit. I know due to its size and weight it won't come out of the box everyday, but when it does it will be worth that weight in gold! Chris

    GRCS

Had to post cause my wife just doesn't get it. Finally ordered one today! Been putting it off for way to long. Can't wait to get it! And of course within 2 hours of order being placed, Treestuff has it out the door and on its way! Chris

Need your Vote and Opinion about business owners not willing to learn to climb.

I disagree. Owning a business (any business) is very complex. I have an accountant because I don't know tax stuff. I could learn but it isn't where my strengths are. But I also don't tell my accountant how to do his job. As long as a business owner respects the fact he can not do something...

    Aftermarket parts

I have a ms441 in need of an oil pump and a clutch assembly. I went to local stihl shop today and was quoted $188. Seems a bit high. I was looking into aftermarket parts but have no idea whether this is a good or bad idea. Any thoughts? And if you do buy aftermarket, from where do you buy...

What to Pay a Good Climber?

Do you offer benefits? That would have a big effect on hourly rate. Chris

Buying a brand new chipper or older/used?

For me the chipper is my money maker. Without it work takes longer and I pay more at the dump. I am also not a mechanic. I bought a new chipper instead of new dump truck. I am also a fan of financing and paying more than I have to. Frees up cash in case of unforeseen situation. Bought new...

    Dealer recommendations

Looking to buy chipper truck or forestry truck, have not made up my mind yet. Just looking for some dealers that others may have had good experiences with. I'm in Illinois but can travel as needed. Oh yeah, forgot to mention I was looking for used truck. Thanks, Chris

Is that smart thing available in the US? I was close to pulling the trigger on the GRCS, but would have to compare the 2 now (if I can get one that is) Chris

    Grapple trailer

I love the idea of a grapple truck or grapple trailer. The problem I have with the mini is the transporting of it. I would either need to modify one truck to be able to hold it or have a 3rd truck factored in. I want a 2 truck operation. I look at grapple trucks everyday and always find a way...

    TCIA question

I'm a very small and part-time company. But safety and doing things right are very important to me. I want to start a safety/training program for both the ability to grow and for my own protection. Since we are so small my time is spent on every aspect of the business, so I was hoping the...
