You don't want to run it WOT without a load (cutting in wood) for too long (more than a few seconds at a time). Again, they weren't designed for that...they are designed to cut full throttle in the wood.
Cut control comes from how quickly you move the saw into the wood...not how quickly the...
I was taught a long time ago (so maybe newer saws are different), that chainsaws were designed to idle or full throttle. I pretty much never make cuts a lower rpm.
Not saying that's a bad idea....but is there any solution that doesn't involve a lot of dead squirrels? There will almost certainly be a vocal population for whom that will never be accepted as a viable option.
(Ther earlier mentioned birth sterilization may be the only exception...if that's...
Also, FWIW, as @Reach said think about targets as well. I don't do a ton of support systems, but when I started doing them, it occurred to me: If I were an insurance adjuster and I saw a tree that recently had a cable installed laying on my client's house, I'm probably looking for whoever put...
2nd pic maple: just the way that's starting out, I'd bet there aren't big enough branches higher in the tree to install a cable that will hold. That's pretty rough looking and apparently a relatively small tree. I'd push for replacement (and I don't do removals, so I'm not trying to talk the...
If you want to see how good Columbia gas (or any of the pipeline companies) are, just park a piece of excavation equipment on or near the ROW of a larger line. They'll show up in short order.
Was working with a logger once who heard a plane circle at low altitude overhead a few times. Less...
I've been using 100% Canola oil (straight from the baking aisle at Kroger, nothing special) for about 10 years now. Not that I want to inhale that either...but better than dino oil.
Just got email from FedEx that delivery is expected tomorrow. That's impressive if so: Thursday morning in Mississippi to Ohio on Friday.
(Edit, 5 minutes later got another email that its coming Saturday...that sounds more realistic, but still impressive. It's still FedEx, so a Christmas...
I put AM Leonard's in the cart to get a shipping quote. Whether I had 2 or 4 in the cart, it was $280 for shipping.
Wonder if they'd let me pick them up on a rainy day?
They do have the new credentialing portal...that transition probably hasn't been great. I do know that new portal stops counting hours when you hit your required number for your credential. But if you look at what is required to sit for the BCMA test you need 8 "points". You can get 1 of...
With the caveat that I don't do removals...it is great. I no longer keep a gas top handle saw in the truck. I do think you need at least a Forge 8Ah battery to like it though...anything less will be disappointing. 12Ah is better, but heavier. I have both and keep the 8 amp in there and...
I have been intrigued/tempted by the trackway weave mats from AM Leonard at 22 lb each and say they support 20 tons.
