Thanks. I should also mention that I will not buy new. I would rather buy used, even well used and if it needs a little TLC I can do that.
The last thing I bought new was a pair of blue jeans in 2011.
My business scored a line of credit and I feel like a 5yr old in a toy store. Looking for some hydraulics to purchase to save on my back. I think I've settled on either a Bobcat MX85 or a Cat 247/257. To those of you with a mini: how many times have you needed the mini where a full size track...
I'm also in the breakaway camp now. I'm not using this lanyard, and I won't post which one I am using because this post is promoting a certain product.
But let me just say: if you're still using a cheap lanyard, upgrade it. your pelvis and ribs won't be able to handle pushing a big top over when...
Keep them bastards out of MN!
But when they do show up, I'm going to unleash my local little league team with hands full of Louisville sluggers. They're probably big enough to use as batting practice?
back in March/April/May 2019 I was trying to buy some rigging gear and helmet from him I was ready to send him the $$ after we agreed on price, but then he sent an odd message about being unable to ship it until payday or some excuse. I just assumed he found another buyer. he stopped responding...
Thanks for the responses buzzers. Too bad, I was hoping to find a magical piece of equipment to solve all my problems. Instead, as per usual, the answer is to adjust the way we work :)

I've climbed with my Jameson+Silky handsaw trying to prune some upper branches, and let me tell you it's a PITA.
I'm looking to upgrade - I like the Stihl HT131 (I'm a Stihl guy), but I also like the idea of a lightweight battery powered one. I'm trying to decide if the Milwaukee M18 Quik-Lok...
+1 for the Actik core, with rechargeable battery. The battery life is surprising, to me. I spent a couple dark fall evenings working on framing my garden shed (2x 4hrs) and it still had charge.
Does anyone have experience with this gear? Seems like a cool innovation - I like the little red loops on the side of the bridge, are they designed to support weight/second TIP?
Plenty of 'biner loops, but one thing I don't notice: a solid ring or two to hang a chainsaw lanyard.

What's the status of Edelrid spikes since the recall? Are they more durable now?
I'm not sold on the Edelrids just yet, but their offset shank design (not bump around ankle, but offset from arch to over the heel to align with leg bone better) seems logical. Any other spikes offer that feature?
Don't make it like they used to, that's probably for sure.
I think the perception of new gear being unsafe-ish is due to the stories we hear about that gear failing. Look at it this way, 35 yrs ago, you wouldn't be drinking your morning coffee in the PNW and read in your local paper about a tree...
