OH ok. I see how easy it would be to get confused. I will be helping out at the ITTC Fun Climb. Stan and I will be on site wearing Tree Climbing International "get high Climb Trees" t-shirts. My Tom is Tom Dunlap the Buzzer who pushed this site online.

It will be a hard thing for be to change but every time I watch a climber on SRT I get the feeling that I am work twice as hard as I could be. With all this new neat tools and hitches and methods oh my! I maybe barking up the wrong rope.
See you at the top,
Dan
Graeme,
Stan and I still talk about our visit with you at the Seattle ITTC and am happy to read about your techniques. Tom showed us his Hitch Hiker last week and hope that we might meet up again soon, maybe in Portland?
See you at the top,

PS thanks for the endorsement.
Slip that litter bugger inside some tubular webbing; whip lash stich around each end with some waxed hemp cord and it may become one step closer to prefection. I find those springs are tempered steel and will really take a pounding before they distort so all it needs is a sleeve over the spirals.
I really like the efficiency of a rigid link used here instead of the cord tether.
Just for kicks here are some random thoughts on a rigid link construction that demand to be beta tested. Any taker?
1.Oak dowel rod with a pair of closed eye hooks lagged into holes drilled in each end. Easy to...
Well you know now that you think of it I have been waiting for the best time to rig up a little game where you could swing piñata’s on a string into stationary running full blast chain saw with its blade fixed straight up. But a buzz saw? OH MY I want to spin that dervish.
I also have issues with gum balls and am happy to report that I was told at the U of North Carolina Arboretum that they have a fruitless Sweet Gum. It has everything we like about the tree but no balls. A neat thing is that the ends of each leaves points are rounded instead of pointy and I like...
I viewing the MidWestern Chapter Facebook page there has been a lot of talk about all splices needing to be labeled with tags to ID the splices.
Who best to ask than the Buzzers.
Who decides and where are the published regs?
Curious minds want to know.
An additional level of safety beyond the slippery hitch is once the climber passes the 6 foot mark lash the down rope to a band secured around the base of the tree. That way if they take a screamer they will have a sudden stop just before the ground instead of a impact. Jam the knot and their...
Ideas- make the system self-tending by positionig the friction hitch of your choice at about eye level so all down pull is below the self-advancing hitch. Add a foot loop(s) so they can stand up; push up; sit down; pull up.

I have made it a quest in life to help anyone who longs for a canopy experience can have one if possible. No matter how much a person wants to sometimes there are obstacles one cannot overcome.
One cannot but many can. Partner up with those who are in the know.

Re: Nick\'s Throwline -- JUICED
There are many kite strings made from Spectra that could be wound on those Plueger spools that would miles more length.
