This crane op's first tree. Went pretty smooth but still stressful. Picked small anyway due to lousy drop zone. He has plenty of crane experience & credentials and picked it up quick. The rest of the trees were blind picks. National NBT55 [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106] Sent...

    Weak infeed roller WC17

It sounds like you may have 2 separate problems. Not sure what is going on with your pump but I would start by checking relief valve pressure. This can be done with a cheap gauge from auto parts store and some fittings. It is a very simple hydraulic system and any hydraulic shop should be...

    PLEASE REMOVE

Highly recommend Hoffman Boots insulated drilines http://www.hoffmanboots.com/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=10%20ST%20INS.%20DL They have a double steel shank great for spur climbing, last alot longer than cheap boots, but they are cheaper and WAY faster break in than wescos, whites, etc.

    Chipper Knives

Check out the KSBC1 at Treestuff.com... That is what we run... Believe they are made by Knifesource. Also don't forget new bolts and nuts.. we get them from Fastenal. If it has been awhile, pull out your anvil and have a look at it, might be time to flip or replace that too. Good square edge...

    Salt Damage

@JD3000 I was hoping to pick your brain on gypsum for a moment. How much gypsum do you consider to be the maximum per application? I am assuming it is like lime where you can easily overdo it? I am trying to treat a large arborvitae that is right next to the road and the soil has been...

    Pines and construction damage

It sounds like doing it by hand may be the way to go from what you are saying. Would probably be faster and less frustrating to do basal bark spray on the buckthorns till you achieve a good kill rate, then come through and mow them down by hand. Cant get as much product in through those tiny...

    Pines and construction damage

We have done work like you are describing with a tracked skid loader and heavy duty brush hog. Would be lighter than what pops into my head when you say Fecon. How large of an area are we talking here, how wet, and what is the soil like?

@AxeTree , would you mind sharing any info on what cylinder and valve you used, and if you plumbed it with a priority valve? I am looking to do this mod and any info would be much appreciated. Thanks!

    Sena Communications.....whats new?

Does not sound like the tuff talks are worth it although they do look cool. Plus everyone has finally figured out how to use the original ones. If I was going to pull the trigger on comms right now I would buy a set of the 10R's because they are more low profile than the B's. We have been...
