So….two ropes tied with a Zeppelin, Figure-8 Bend or something else? Isn’t the knot going to be troublesome? I get on a base tie at 90ft crotch with a 100ft rope and another on the backside. What’s the other usage or only base tie?
I’m going to buy another rope because I’m thinking about trying to get higher on open air SRS. Not that there’s anything wrong with my 150ft hyperclimb thats 2.5 years old with light use. I’m debating about a 120-200ft rope. Typically when I SRS, I’ll canopy tie with a Quickie with an Alpine...
The forestry project I’m working is fun. I’m gaining a lot more experience with directing the falls and perfecting my technique. I’ve dropped countless trees on the property and it is a blast so I understand the draw!
I had a blast watching the events. It was enlightening and entertaining. They had 4 guys in the masters. Ryan Kessler won it. He is a very talented climber. I don’t do FB but, the list and photos are there.
I think 25 competitors for tomorrow. I was at the walk through this afternoon. The events look setup really good. Here’s the accent to 50ft and a photo under the work climb.
I have one and I use the 8AH batteries. It’s real handy around the house. I keep it in my shop at an arm’s length. I also use it for cutting dropped deadwood, fence boards and posts. Mine does leak oil sometimes. Keep the chain sharp and don’t lower the rakers too much.
Anybody have experience with the Pelican Rope tree viper 24 strand. I like that it’s made in USA and it’s cool looking. I’ve only used Samson Hyperclimb but, looking for something more SRT friendly but still DRT useable.
I have the 25hp Yanmar SA325 with grapple and PTO stump grinder. I love it. I use a Wallenstein FX-85 PTO skidder on the forestry project. Kubota 3902. I’m telling you it’s a beast. It will jerk an entire 100ft 24” DBH out quick. My 2 cents.
Middle TN may get wind gusts to 40 mph and 5 inches of rain but, that kinda depends where it makes landfall. It’s suppose to get here tomorrow night. Probably flooding.
Update. I put my chainsaw on my left this week and kept my lanyard/handsaw on right. I like it better so far. i don’t have to switch hands to start. @moss tip of leaving scabbard on is working…what do you do with it when it comes off? Thanks for the discussion.
