Problem with 2 huge oak trees

@Baseballjunkie6 just note that I am NOT an arborist or play one on TV, but read a lot about trees.. That said you should consult an arborist or someone in the know (university nearby with a forestry program, cooperative extension in your state, etc) on these. It could still be solid and may...

Problem with 2 huge oak trees

The first tree looks like it’s suffered damage or disease in the root system on that side. There doesn’t appear to be any callous wood attempting to contain the wound. What does the root flare look like? Is there manufactured landscape on that side? The second tree has definitely had some...

Time Spent Amongst Trees Is Never Time Wasted!

Strongly agree. To quote John Muir: "And into the forest I go, to lose my mind and find my soul" My favorite quote... How about: "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks"

    Noob questions

Lord The PerfectO is a 15mm shorter biner than their UltraO, so it saves about 5/8" on the length. The Knut is the hitch I use because it is more compact than at VT or Michoacan. Combined with a 28" cord and it's barely enough to make the system. I bought the 25cm bridges at Wesspur...

    Noob questions

@Lord Baby Arm : I too have a Seqioa SRT harness and felt the wrench setup was way to high into my face and in the way. A few things I did to lower it was: - Changed the standard bridge to the shorter bridge. Petzl makes 3 sizes for this saddle. Check the favorite suppliers as one has them on...

    Knife in tree

I keep this clipped on my Sequoia belt right under my bridge. It has a secure sheath with a big clip that stays out of the way: https://www.gerbergear.com/Knives/Fixed/River-Shorty-Green_31-002645

Help me select a pole pruner head please

@ATH which model Marvin do you have? I’m debating if I need the 1.75” capacity with double pulleys or if the standard 1.25 single pulley will do. All of my cutting will be hardwood mostly oak. I tend to overdo it when anticipating “what if”...
