what do you need per man hour to stay profitable..

It would be hard for me to give a per hour. The reason is I'm still in my first year after going full time and I haven't gotten to the point where I work every day. I kind of figure on a weekly basis what my fixed expenses are and then go from there with the variable expenses depending on how...

looking for a new pair of boots...

Check out Vasque sundowners Very nice for climbing and footlock and hold up decent. Made by redwing. No heel makes them less than ideal for removals. For that I wear my Danner Quarrys that I wore in the log woods.

    Has anyone done this before?

From what I see I would have easily done it. Of course I've got years of experience doing selective logging where you are doing exactly that kind of thing all day. I would have cut the first stump down a first and drop it right on top of the first one which didn't hit anything it looked like...

    Hitch Climber pulley

I can't emphasize enough. BUY IT! It will revolutionize your climbing, it did mine. The Rapide is worth the extra. Like a ford vs. a mercedes. No noise and way smoother. It helps to put a ring on your saddle so that your tail is oriented to come out straight ahead. This makes it a little harder...

    Rip it & Chip it!

I agree on the service issue for buying a chipper. That was the biggest factor in my purchase. 90%+ are vermeer around here and vermeer is 20 minutes from my house. I don't even know where the nearest morbark or bandit shop is. To be honest I've never even had a chance to run anything else...
