Personally I'd stay away from the teco. A friend of mine bought one and the control hoses blew out on a job. Long story short the truck is still sitting 3 years later because there are no parts available for them anymore.
We've got an 88 s1900. By FAR the oldest but still the most reliable truck in the shop. pulls our 18" chipper all the time. Not as much power as the newer trucks but it runs good and reliably.
I had the same issue with my pulley saver. Used it a couple times then didn't touch it for a few months. Until I learned how to set it correctly on a spar of vertical stem. I use it almost exclusively when I'm doubled rope. Haven't got it stuck in two years. Pull a bight of the side that the...
Guess it kind of goes without saying it is required to have a clean drivers license (and CDL for one of the trucks). Also with the worker comp carriers they require a drug test policy if there is any event.

It was 200+ miles to service here. Terex approved a local certified welder to do the repair and is reimbursing me. They send you the parts and diagram/specs. Was like a 350 welding bill.
Main things to look for in a 1250 is the rollers on the feed wheels if they are worn it WILL bind and wont open right and major to replace the tracks.

Check the jackshaft bearings and the sweep pivot for wear. the jackshaft bearings are not a huge deal but the sweep pivot is MAJOR if it wasn't greased. I'd say 1500-2000 or so if its in good shape. I bought mine for $4500 with 1100 hrs trailer and duals in real good shape.
