New Choking Crane Sling Stays on Hook

Isn't some or all SRT banned in Germany....and your introducing this technique? I would think this is far more risky than anything SRT related? Funny how the world turns.

    Pondering Cost Control

Jason brings up some very good points. If your profitable and are in business for a number of years it gives you the ability to use those profits to make more profits later on. What I mean by this is rent what you need to now, and when the time comes you can start to buy the equipment that your...

    New Truck Painted!! Please Help!

My truck cab is white. So, I opted to just keep it the white as it matches the crane. It will have our nice log put on it so it will stand out. The boom is yellow which I really hate.....but had to pass at this time because of cost. I just couldn't bring myself to spend the kinda money they were...

    Pondering Cost Control

We buy our rakes with a 5 year commercial warranty. I know...who would warranty a rake. I laminated the receipt and it hangs by the rakes. Once one or two are broken we go back to the store with the receipt and get two new ones. No questions asked.

    Pondering Cost Control

I really like this post. I agree with a lot of what your saying. I struggle with being the most expense tree service around or...the "best" priced tree service around. I took over for a tree service that was in operation for 44 years. This company had a state of the art facility, all brand new...

    Pondering Cost Control

Oh, I get it now!! I was looking more internal for cost savings. But, yes. Cooperation with other companies is the way to go. I gave my opinion on this in another thread. I also worked with a guy who suggested a kinda co-op of equipment. One investor buys a large commercial building and inside...

    Bucket truck outrigger pads

Same here. Not cheap. but way better than wood and they last a lot longer too. You can't go wrong. Get in the habit of putting down the pads for every job and every surface.

    Tree Jobs and Job Adds

What about if you worked for someone and you both got rich? Then their is the idea of what "rich" means. I find that for me to be "rich" it involves good food, a comfortable place to live, two nice vacations a year, and a reliable vehicle to get me to and from places I like to go:) How much...

    Tree Jobs and Job Adds

I started my business with the motto in mind of "If you want to go fast, go alone"....."If you want to go far, go together" Most business I have ever worked at were based on greed. The top guys take and take and take as much as they can from the business. Depleting it of all value and resources...

    Crane Op Screw Up

Steve, This is too bad it happened to you. Thankfully no one was hurt or injured. You know my place on having an LMI. I know your guy has 30 years experience and goes by feel...but sometimes it's nice to look at the screen to get an actual readout of what you have applied for pressure. Was...

    Gerasimek's Tree-mek

True! I was thinking about the option of taking the grapple off and using the K-Boom to remove a tree. Incase that would be needed. I could get by with 110 feet of vertical lift.

    Gerasimek's Tree-mek

I looked into them..pretty nice. I am going to reach out to him. One question...whats the most vertical each you can get out of these? We do a lot of 110-140 sometimes 150 foot pines. (not all too often we get into the 150 pines, but they are out their) Is it possible to get a K-Boom with the...
