I generally wouldn't care, just that friction hitches wouldn't grab or run smoothly in SRS after flattening with mechanicals. Not being able to switch on demand is what bugged me. The feel is a lil off putting as well but not a big deal.
Yeah try with a short piece of cord or something. I used a whoopie sling to quickly dial in my length. Was going to splice a pice of 3mm amsteel before realizing I could just use the e2e.
Thanks for the input, yeah I had purposely removed the y tube video. I agree about the extra gear, I use an eye to eye that I always kept on my harness for alternate purposes anyways. I always carry at least 1-3 extra biners as well. For me, it has replaced my knee ascender as of now. Slightly...
Yep, I'm just using an eye to eye and clipping to swivel on bridge separately from carabiner on multicender. Still working great, I walked about 80' up with it yesterday. Anyone else try it or have positive or negative input?
Thanks Brocky regarding the chalk, I'm 99.99% sure the change was due to the chalk itself. I even tried a small sample section without agitation beforehand as well as previously trying to relax the rope. I'm not really concerned with impact to the core or rope strength, i am slightly concerned...
@Willber thanks for the feedback, yeah I climb SRS like 75% of the time so might make more sense to prioritize those qualities. I milked the blue moon like 5 times this evening and only got an inch off it, seems like climbing has been doing that well enough. It's been working fine since i ran a...
Heard good things about drenaline, I wonder how it compares to xstatic. Sounds like xstatic is really not that stiff and works alright in MRS as well. I think I'm between those two ropes next.
Rock climbers will often climb the rope as well (jumaring). Yeah, i wouldn't recommend it but a fairy dust sprinkle did the trick lol. Something to keep in mind in a pinch I guess..
Mostly consulting work like risk assessments, appraisals, and tree preservation reports. Also all sorts of PHC, and home orchard care. I guess nitch would be managing palms to control South American Palm Weevil pests. I'm pretty deep into that to the point of conducting my own research trials...
Did you see the pics/video in the link? Hard for me to visualize right now but I think you're essentially just loading the multicender with your "knee ascender" step up, and then it tends twice the distance on the foot ascender step. That's why it won't work with a standard chest harness, need...
Less gear/bulk and multiple uses. Benefits of a knee ascender with an eye to eye which is something I and likely others already have on the harness anyway. Up and down travel in the bridge and multicender capturing advancement allows it to function pretty darn well imo. Idk I dig it.
Milwaukee makes great tools/batteries. Would be interesting to compare the two. I have Makitas 40v drill and it's a notable improvement over the 18v as far as torque, rpms, and battery life. Also have the 18v chainsaw, was considering getting the 40v but interested to hear more bout this Milwaukee.
All good, I removed the video to avoid clutter and confusion. I think my photos and video get to the point and show a better safer system. Left the name of the channel if anyone wants to search it.
Gotcha, yeah it's my evening off from the kids. I totally get it. I'm not really connecting it directly to the climbing system but to the ring on my bridge, just the shock cord to tend. I definitely see the value in understanding the history and reasoning. You're understanding of the concepts...
Oh you're referring to the YouTube video, yeah i didn't like that at all so didn't even consider doing it that way. We're you able to open my Google link? I just wanted to give him credit but wouldn't recommend doing it that way.
