woodworking bandsaw works great for cutting aluminum. all of the early akimbos were made that way. if you have a router you can use round over and chamfer bits if they are carbide.
I use it mrs quite a lot for leapfrogging my way up dense canopies. For me, I like a steel carabiner on my working end. That makes throwing my line much easier and the extra weight helps me bring it back down to me.
I hope to have the video up soon. There is a lot going on with this device. Jumpy descent could be needing a tighter setting on the bottom jaw (if the jaws are not touching on descent) or a looser setting on the bottom if the jaws are touching hard. It’s all about balancing the friction between...
of course. i owe a lot to this site and the people on it. without the treebuzz and the treehouse i most certainly never would have come up with the akimbo. i really want people to enjoy it and if i can help with advice or direction im thrilled to do so. ive been meaning to make a video going...

Fly, work pro 12.5 and poison ivy are my most used ropes.
It does behave quite different on ddrt. It is much more sensitive and can be jerky if your used to running it solely on Srt.

i still use a rope wrench quite often. the akimbo is not the solution to every climbing situation and it was never intended to be. the hype kind of grew legs and started running on its own after a while .
when i started working on it i was only making something for myself. i was...
Is the upper cam stuck? It shouldn’t be sliding down the rope when you sit into it like that. A drop of oil should help if the cam is in fact sticking.
