Re: 70\' Bucket Truck, HiRanger 6EHV65
My grandfather once told me (in a rather stern manner), "If all you can make is a Jackass comment, you might consider pinching your tongue". My grandfather's wisdom continues to remain timeless!
Re: 70\' Bucket Truck, HiRanger 6EHV65
The unit is currently at an aerial lift shop, where it has been structurally inspected and confirmed to be in safe operating condition! If you are not in the "salt belt" and don't deal with the related corrosion, and keep your equipment regularly inspected...

70\' Bucket Truck, HiRanger 6EHV65
1986 GMC 7000 w/HiRanger 6EHV65 (70' working height) unit. The picture was taken the day I purchased it for a project- after really considering it, I am going to take a different route for our "tall work" . 8.2 Diesel, 5/2 speed transmission/rear end, hyd...
Re: \"Gale Wars\" Articulating loaders
As a former "Boxer" dealer, I can certainly see a great deal of improvement in the arms and telescopic design on the Avant.
How though, does rollback or "tilt back" capacity compare between the Avant and the Boxers. We continually had a problem with the...
Do any of you use the Beaver Squeezer mini grapple on your machines? We have a very custom built one on a machine and it does a nice job. Admittedly they and the "Ryan" are a bit expensive but are very well built.
Re: Picture of the Fleet
Brendon, you have the most sensible bucket of anything shown. Good work on choosing the perfect residential truck. I have never understood the obsession with "forestry trucks" for residential tree work- they simply don't make sense. (IMHO of course)
Here in the southern states we still have a number of service stations that sell ethanol free fuel (usually 91 or 93 octane). If we are out-of-state we will buy from a fuel distributor that sell 103-107 octane, ethanol free, racing fuel. They can usually be found close to any race track.
What the heck are you doing to my Old Woodsman??? Sheese, take care of the thing for my conscience sake. That machine originated in Michigan, lived in AL, and then made its way to Hawaii. It still looks like its running strong!
Stihl 036, just had full rebuild performed by Baileys (new piston/cylinder, drum/sprocket, handle, carb kit, fuel line/filter). Only run for two tanks of fuel (non ehtanol) since rebuild. $425

I believe it was a 96' model. 18" bar, 325 pitch. It has already been sold though. Thanks,
A friend of mine's grandfather had it. He bought it new and cut one tree down with it then put it on the shelf. I bought it from him and used it on one job, quickly realizing I was too spoiled by a Husky...

Bailey\'s rebuilt Stihl 036 saw with 20\" bar/chain
Freshly overhauled (by Bailey's) Stihl 036 chainsaw. New top end kit (piston, cylinder, etc., carb kit, fuel line/filter). Runs beautifully and has only had one tank of fuel (ethanol free, 93 octane, with Husqvarna synthetic oil) run through...
Well, the man who hired the "spanish guy" should have his pants sued off. People like this know they are exploiting desperation and lack of knowledge but they don't care. To them it's all about saving a buck because afterall it's just "cutting a tree down"- anybody can do that right? Goodness...
As mentioned above, be sure to take a log book and keep track of your hours! Also, make sure the old company's logo and DOT number are not visible (tape paper over them if you have to), and make sure you have all your paperwork right. With declining budgets, state police are looking for revenue-...
