Pics of your bucket trucks.

Re: Picture of the Fleet

Advantage of not working over the cab.
Shorter wheel base, more maneuverable.
Extra working height as you can back the truck directly up to the tree trunk to utilize the boom straight up and down as opposed to losing height from the angle of being over the cab.
I'm sure there is more, I love mine. I'm still getting used to it but it amazes me how much more productive I am.

Re: Picture of the Fleet

Also when you are using the lift it can make using the chipper inefficient. You either have to drag the brush from the front or sides to the rear often times you'll have to then rotate the pile of brush 180°. Or the chipper will be in the landing zone. Also when the trimmer is done and if the brush isn't finished the trimmer will either have to wait until the brush is done or the groundman will have to drag the brush to the new work station.
Another advantage is you can get rearmount buckets under cdl since you won't be hauling chips. Which will be cheaper on ins registration and won't have to worry about getting people with cdls

Re: Picture of the Fleet

Brendon, you have the most sensible bucket of anything shown. Good work on choosing the perfect residential truck. I have never understood the obsession with "forestry trucks" for residential tree work- they simply don't make sense. (IMHO of course)

Re: Picture of the Fleet

Brendon,
Nice truck, what is the height when folded up? Just bought an elevator bucket,, it's not going to sneak under things like the old truck. I think it stands 12' 8" The old one was 11'3"

Re: Picture of the Fleet

Says 12'6" actually. Will fit under a 12'4" bridge though

I'm just wrapping up my 3rd year of my business. I'm 28 and started this business on my own. Here is a picture of my fleet. (Its getting pretty respectable.) Skid steer, stump grinder, and dump trailer didn't make the photo.

Nice looking fleet AA. I too started in this business at age 25 with a pickup truck and a couple of saws. I'm now in my 27th year in business and its been very good to me. Best wishes to you as you grow your business. My pics are eluding me at the moment but I'll post them when I track them down.

Yeah, but are the double yellow lines directly beneath the center of your truck?

Your "3rd year"! Does money grow on trees down in Omaha, NE? Any tips for a new business like mine to grow like yours?

Thanks man,
Trees are pretty good here in Omaha. Its really hard to give general advice on how to make your company better. Everyone on here forgets that people live in entirely different climates, geographically and economically.

I like that crane in the back ground!
Crane is working well, the computer issue seems to be in the monitor, I purchased a new from Guifree Bros. and will be trying it today for the first time. Wish me luck! Hope all is well in Bozeman, Thanks Wade!

There was a guy in Waterbury, near the AOH, that had a truck identical to yours.

He may still have it, i don't get over that way often

In the small yards, driveways, even limited street acces in the greater Waterbury area, rear mounts are key.

Most other companies in the area ran forestry bodies, never could see those being efficient in tight city constraints.

I'll play. Here is mine it is a 1998 f800 w/ cummins and a lift all lift. I had to paint it when I got it cuz it was still Davey colored so I decided to go all out.

I got a pretty good deal on it but I had to replace the pump and pto as well as rebuild one of the cylinders. Overall the truck has been great and really increases production. It is also a great advertising tool!
