Branch manager attachments

Do any of you use the Beaver Squeezer mini grapple on your machines? We have a very custom built one on a machine and it does a nice job. Admittedly they and the "Ryan" are a bit expensive but are very well built.

My branch manager grapple arm bent 2 weeks ago. I called dave and he said he beefed up the new ones because this was happening. No complaints, I've been using it for 3 years, but just wanted to show the difference in the new ones. The new ones have gussetted sides and many more cross supports (not shown in picture.) Its been a pretty good grapple.

Is that new arm the standard replacement? How much? I tweaked mine by grabbing the mounting plate to push logs and rotating down. Hydraulics are much stronger than steel.

Mines the same, haggard. Gotta give dave a call. I was thinking of a whole new grapple, but not if I don't need it!

I beefed up the other side by adding three tubes in the middle. The new ones have a plate welded there. Mucho better.

We have had our branch manager for about 6 years and it works almost every day. It is the greatest attachment for a mini. Our arms got bent the same way over time. I rebuilt both ends and plated they like in the picture. I put 900 hours on our sk650 last year and most of them were with the grapple. I can't say enough great things. We are getting a new dw sk755 tomorrow so I may have to paint the grapple before I put it on.

Give dave a call. He hooked me up with a good price on replacement. I won't say how much, but will I'll say it was significantly less than I thought it would be. Here is a side picture. He added several bow tie cross braces as well. The replacement takes 6 washers to space out the pivot, as the design has changed a bit.

Carl sold me my bmg grapple, he's great to work with. I must have the new style cause we've been abusing that poor grapple and it's holding up strong!

The grapple is on its 4th mini skid dingo 425, dingo 525, dw sk650 and now dw sk755. A little bit of welding, a few steel plates, couple of bolts and a few hoses in approx 5000hrs. The bmg is the best.

Those scoops are amazing! I have a set for my Gehl AL340 and HD BMG and they are the bees knees for picking up raking, stump mulch, and pretty much any other debris you can think of! They don't tear up a lawn, have a large capacity, easy on/off, heavy duty.

As for Branch Manager, I can't be happier with the products and service they provide. They have amazing service, and my HD BMG is holding up great, considering the hell I put it through! Carl is a great guy to deal with, he's even helped on some field repairs. I call him up and he tells me what I need to look for and how to fix it, bam, 10 minutes later things are back to work!

I was at the Vermeer dealer yesterday, and he was trying to get me to buy their grapple. He was saying a local branch (of a nation wide company) was talking to him about wanting to get rid of their BMG and getting Vermeer's grapple. Saying that the BMG was beating up their machine, due to the free swivel. That logs etc were swinging into the machine during use. So they wanted Vermeer's cause they could lock it into 2 positions, or free swing (but only 270 degrees I think).

Is this really a issue? Or was I just getting a line...or is the company just miss using the BMG?

I was thinking I may need to try and buy it from them ;)

I can't believe I'm admitting this but, we love the vermin grapple. Launched the vermin mini skid out of a cannon it sucked so bad but the grapple is great because its simply designed and the more wear it gets the better it works.

The BMG has dogs on the bottom to "heel" logs/brush straight out and keep it from flopping around.

We also offer a 30 day money back guarantee, and a forum discount. ;)

I have used both grapples and have seen the Vermeer grapple used by Vermeer folks as well as one end user. IMO, in all but the most limited of circumstances, the BMG wins.
