Pictures of your chipper truck, lets see them!

New chip truck this month from Arbortech. Not the best experience dealing with them, but they did have a good price. Still needs stickers. Wanted a southco body but they wanted almost 10,000 more for the same truck.

Best way to move big wood?

From today, the Gehl AL540 sneeks through this back yard gate with the big logs. We drove across this yard all day and turned 90 around the corner of the house. The photos are from before blowing the yard with the leaf blower even! No damage what so ever.

Best way to move big wood?

The fold down ROPS came in handy last week. Luckily this guy had a garage door at the end of his garage to get into the back yard. the photo isn't of the big wood. this log could have easily been done with the mini.

    Mini skid vs articulated loader

We don't do firewood. If we did, it would be a different story. I haven't been able to identify how to make any money with firewood. It is so much work for so little money. I do some saw milling though and owning the al540 has allowed us to get some great logs out of back yards that otherwise...

    Mini skid vs articulated loader

We have a dump trailer for logs. We don't have an open top truck so the lift capacity is a much more important part than height. We have a forestry truck and a chip truck for our big trucks. Eventually I will buy a grapple truck. Our 18" Bandit chipper means very few logs at the end of the day...

    Mini skid vs articulated loader

Idealy, both. I like the mini for everyday work and when we get the big stuff I bring the Gehl. Most of our work is residential and we don't get to mess up yards. Neither of the tools do if you drive them right. A wheeled skid loader would almost constantly sit at the yard where the Gehl is...

Best place to store backpack blower

Where do people like to keep their backpack blower? We were storing ours in our chipper chute with a couple of trash cans until it was stolen yesterday. Some thieves broke into our yard overnight. The truck storage doors worked as they should thankfully. We roll with a bucket truck and a...

    CRANE!! AM I DREAMING?

I don't like the idea of having just the load cell. LMIs are just so handy to have. Maybe buy this truck instead. http://www.ironplanet.com/jsp/s/item/698630?h=6-1

Hi Joe, I still have the 600 available. We mostly used it last year as a loader at my milling yard to move slabs.

Fyi, as a new member forums can be a bit confusing. This should be posted in rubber hits the road since this isn't an item listed for sale.

    Changes at SHERRILLtree

The thing that Sherrill Tree was failing at for years is innovation. New products would be on the market for a year without being offered by Sherrill. It seems like Sherrill first tries to take and copy a product with their own brand and if that doesn't work, they begrudgingly offer it many many...

    New Vermeer S725 tx

I've been running ours for over a year now. It has lots of hose routing issues. Make sure and purchase an extended warranty if available. Vermeer comped me a 2 year warranty because of issues from the get go. There is a factory update for a hydraulic valve, check with them to make sure its...
