    Rope care

Just rub the rope in with canola oil and keep using it. Next time install a friction saver before a long distance climb. Wolter

    Echo 2510 tes

Made a small adjustment to the eye on my 2510tes. I put an extra bend in it and installed it upside down. Now it's so much easier to put it back on the hook on my saddle. No flipping up anymore. But for easy storage it's still foldable. Only now it's down. Wolter

An angry little bumble bee - MS150TC

These chains can be used on the standard 1.1mm groove Husqvarna bars on the Husqvarna 536LiXP. On my Echo 2510 I modified the Stihl bar to fit the Stihl chains as standard. Wolter

I bought mine at a local dealer. I asked him if he could order the tools to tune the saw. He could and he did. Now I have a complete set of strange slotted screwdrivers. I own my own saws and have the weirdest thoughts in my head. One of them is... I want to be able to do my own adjustments...

    Stihl MS 201T v. Echo CS 355T

It all depends on what you mean by better. Better as in performance or better as in durability and quality? Don't forget, Stihl's budget for advertising is mega huge. I don't know how it is over there but Echo's budget is over here probably virtually zero. So that 300 dollars difference has...

Good to climb on and just normal wear and tear? Or should I cut this section off?

From that moment on I wasn't that scared of a nick in my rope. Not that I was more careless but looking at a nick when high up in the tree I sometimes wondered. From that moment on it was replaced with a relief knowing how much 'reserve' a rope has. Wolter

Good to climb on and just normal wear and tear? Or should I cut this section off?

At a TCC a rope is to be retired when MORE than two strands ar completely cut at the same spot. I once tested on of my old High Vees. The rope was used every day for two years, left in the shed for another seven and then it was pulled to the point of breaking with a Dynafor on it. All outer...

Yup, that was my idea as well. That man is a genius in his own way. Living off grid, having no clue what the possibilities there are to get the job done. Wolter

who carries a knife into the tree?

What do you need a knife for when you're carrying a Zubat. I had one from Petzl on a biner on the back of my harness, nicked my hand when it unintentionally opened. No more knives for me unless I'm installing safety ropes in the tree.

Update. I'm in love! Too bad my wife doesn't allow me to take it to bed. Every time I have to pull twice to start it, it's my own fault. Forgetting to flick the switch is easy when you have worked with a battery powered saw for many years. Wolter

    Japanese ninja style tree spikes

Yes, that's it. Because my foot and ankle were too firmly fixed in one position all my body weight was pressing my knees and ankle in an intolerable position. Now that my foot can move more freely the pain in the ankle and especially the knees has gone. Or at least I can stay on the metal longer...

Next time that you're on spurs don't incorporate the standing part of the frame into your foot strap. Go only around your boot. After so many years on spurs I wasn't able to stand on spurs any longer than 15 minutes. With this trick I can go on for hours. No sore ankles and knees any more

What you in the US and Canada have is the 355. In the rest of the world this saw is sold as the 360tes. The 2510 is their brand new 25cc little topper. Wolter
