to clarify from one of regs older videos it looked like the device used a lever style action to “break” the device open similar to the blackbird not a “bird” style like the akimbo or rope runners. But like I said couldn’t really tell in the video but it looked smooth!
Almost the same if not smoother once wore in, less waxy out of the gate and I find it to daisy chain nicer for storage as well. Any other questions about RING feel free to DM haha. Back to Regs hopefully awesome device, watching the original video from reg the mechanism seems similar to the ART...
It’s super hard wearing but I found it to get really snotty/slickery when wet, I’ve found Yales R.I.N.G to last as long if not longer without the slick issue when wet.
Cousins black widow is a modern 16 strand it’s a pretty solid line but does pick rather easy not so much from ascenders but locust thorns and the like. A lot of the line clearance contractors around here still issue out 1/2” 16 strand as the company line so while arborplex would be far from my...
The spiderjack 3 video also was a very “holy crap look at that guy flow the tree like water from the sink!” Looked like it may have the stiff installation similar to the throttle but less forceful since the cams appear to be smooth and not heavily channeled like the throttle.

It’s been fixed for a couple years now though. I am curious because the 2.0 looks very similar to the new notch catalyst harness if VSG has vested interest in both companies as Treestuff pushed the Treerex hard for a couple...
Had they switched to a cobra style buckle or honestly any other style of buckle it would have been high on my list of saddles. I know they fixed the buckles but still my luck would be the opposite
You can always use pirateship, it seems odd but pretty much gives you the commercial discount for shipping UPS or FedEx, usually 70% off what the store charges a retail customer.
Both the climber with the device and I are 220#+ with gear so believe that takes some of the noticeable bounce out, atleast for myself I find tachyon stiffer than drenaline and that’s not saying much. I will say I tried climbing with blue moon on the throttle and it wasn’t very smooth unless you...
Best results so far have been with Yale blaze and Teufelberger Fly according to a climber I work with. Buckingham has released a recommended rope list and appropriate setting on their website
Only real complaint if I had one is that when through a pulleysaver or even the Naja friction saver the line is really slick, slicker than brand new drenaline, but I despise climbing with gloves so that might just be a me issue. I’m running the 11.5 version as well.
Splice compared to a Teufelberger charity/drenaline splife (that happened to be zigzag passable) lock stitching looked a little meh to me but was an early run of blue 32. My understanding for the Yale splice is that the core is removed and some sort of material is added I want to say dyneema...
