True Fuel 1 qt round bottles are better that Sthil; They seal better over long term, but both are good.I looked all over for a good quart sized gasoline-approved can...then I realized, it's pretty simple: The canned premix bottles are perfect - I buy the expensive gas for the bottle and refill them when working in the woods.
For oil, I've been 100% canola for a while so there are 20 oz bottles of that. Or I've used empty motor oil quart size and refill
that'll look more like the hotshots! Not sure about now, but 20 years ago when I went on a few fire trips, this is how I saw the swampers carrying saws and fuel. How about some eBay shopping for the dual cans. The ones that have mix on one side and bar oil on the other. I’ve found smaller ones that have a gallon of mix and a generous quart for bar oil. Ditto this, with the addition of swapping out the cap for a dish detergent squirt cap. Makes it so much easier to get the bar oil in rather than on the saw.For oil, I use old 1 qt Motor oil bottles. I use the ones that have a level indicating strip on the side for filling & to check amount in the bottle.
I also mark the Bottles "Bar" for normal oil; and "Winter" for Winter Oil.Ditto this, with the addition of swapping out the cap for a dish detergent squirt cap. Makes it so much easier to get the bar oil in rather than on the saw.
