    ISO Bandit 90xp

I would have to demo a gas machine before pulling the trigger. I hear they can be gas hogs and bog down a bit more than a diesel. However, it will just be a 9” so it’s not like we’d be stuffing it all the time. Something to think about if the price is right. At the end of the day it would be 10x...

    ISO Bandit 90xp

Have you checked to see if FMI Equipment in Spo-Compton has any in stock? I called my local dealer last week and the said they have a shipment of 15”and 18” machines coming end of August, but they are all spoken for. Besides that they said everything else is out 9 months to a year. Luckily I...

    ISO Bandit 90xp

Hey Team! I’m hoping to find a used but taken care of 90xp. Closer to the West Coast the better, or if you are good with helping set up transport. Business is going well and needing this chipper for the pruning crew. Please let me know if you have any leads. Cheers!

Need Your Opinions on This Tree Please

Pretty much what @Stumpsprouts said, but the excavation can do without the overlay and vertical mulching. That is definitely a fantastic addition and if an air tool is already on site, an easy and beneficial addition.

Good job for letting them know who the arborist is. For the reduction, just reduce what sticks furthest outside of the canopy profile. It was mentioned in the first two replies, but do make sure to do a root collar excavation to some extent on this tree. In my experience, the trunk wood of...

Need Your Opinions on This Tree Please

Depends what the goals are for the client. If you are going to focus on reduction to “maintain” a smaller crown, then don’t worry about thinning. Sure structural defects should be removed/mitigated but keep it to that. If the goal is to give it a “thinned, lacey” look because the client thinks...

IDAHO Any climbers in the state of Idaho?

Haha, I’m in Boise, 20 minute drive from Caldwell. Heaps of work here for both landscape and arborist industry. Lots of very old school and horrible pruning practices. Pretty much every company is hiring. Problem is the housing market is absolutely garbage. Low inventory for rentals and buying...

    Sequoia or Treemotion OG saddle?

Lots of proof and testimony for the TM, but was not the saddle for me. I climbed in an OG Sequoia for a few years then decided to jump on the TM wagon. Just couldn’t get it adjusted right and went back to the Sequoia. The second gen. Sequoia was garbage due to the buckles, IMO. The latest...

    Pulldowns on lanyards

Thanks for sharing this “trick” and the discussion involved here. I feel completely comfortable side loading in this situation because everything that could be happening with the carabiner is close and visible. SRT lanyard configuration is fantastic for lateral movement when you are getting...

    Which spurs should i get

To the OP: I am going to be “that guy” for a second. Hopefully you are practicing on trees that are being removed and not on living trees. Just double checking. On a helpful note, lots of good choices above.

    mapping movement within a tree

Sometimes there is a situation where I can president with one throw, but more often then not, I will set my main TIP and throw again for the president and pull my tail through. This is all with a basal tie in mind. Throw hook for traversing is one more wonderful tool.

    mapping movement within a tree

The way my company prunes, we rarely need to access every part of the tree. It is more so targeted pruning to reduce load from specific limbs. The rare occasion that we have to access the majority of the canopy, two climbers is a pretty sweet trick, lol. Pre-directing an SRT line to the most...

    Customer Feedback

At the end of the day, you are the doctor, not them. If you have a good, detailed pruning specification in your quote then there should be no questions at end of job.

    Employee Safety Manual/Employee Handbook

I am finally going to be hiring a couple of employees and need to create a safety manual for workers comp. as well as an employee handbook to keep things flowing. Would anyone mind sharing theirs so I have an example of what to include, or know any good links for quality examples?
