Haha, I’m in Boise, 20 minute drive from Caldwell. Heaps of work here for both landscape and arborist industry. Lots of very old school and horrible pruning practices. Pretty much every company is hiring. Problem is the housing market is absolutely garbage. Low inventory for rentals and buying. We bought last April and the value is up almost $150k. It is ridiculous. Most companies here also pay quite garbage. There are a couple larger company’s in Caldwell but I would recommend you steer clear of them, unless you want to be unsafe and do ridiculous things to trees. One company in Nampa (pretty much connected to Caldwell) that is “okay” and willing to pay but you really have to plead your case. Actually just talked to them today about training and contracting in to do their crane work. Sorry for the long rant and piss-poor sentence/paragraph structure but that’s the way it goes sometimes. If you have any other questions, let me know. Side note, if you are decent and able to get certified, we may have a spot open, but you would have to have housing locked down first.
