The other added benefit of putting it on the back.... it reduces the tongue weight to the point that one person can actually lift it on-to or off-of the tow ball... It's also a great place to put shovels and rakes... we bungee the tools together in the webbing of the dolly...
We welded a similar bracket under the infeed of our chipper..and then welded some nuts and tubes for the dolly handles.... pics here....

Man.... I can almost see myself completing the steps to create tools like these.... there are a few steps that I don't yet understand....and I know enough to know that if I went out the the shop and started tonight!..... it'd be 2 years before I turned out a product that would PALE in comparison...
Before I work on a tree... I thank it for it's gifts... the food and shelter it's provided... the shade.. the Oxygen scrubbed.. and for staying vertical until we could get there....
I also let it know that we're going to perform the work respectfully.... whether it's pruning or removal.... I let...
Trying to teach treeowners that trees are more than just big green things shading the pool....
Once people become disconnected from the natural world, it seems very difficult to reconnect them...
