    another ugly stump

I use an (old fashioned) non locking rope snap. Bullet proof and extremely fast and easy to use. I think we can all tie a RB fast and easy but the rope snap is 4 or 5 times faster I'd say. Plus, it tosses well.

    Overuse Injuries

Back in the day I was walking backwards up a hill dragging brush and I got a sudden sharp pain in my bad knee under the knee cap so I decided 'no more dragging backwards' Fast forward to KOT protocol and one of their key exercises is walking backwards uphill and/or while dragging a weighted...

    Overuse Injuries

Regarding knee pain mentioned earlier, check out Knees Over Toes on IG or YT. Deals with knees, ankles, hips and backs. I've had a bad L knee for decades, it brought it from 30% health to approximately 80%. 100% is the ideal but I'll take 80% any day over what it was.

    Flying squirrels

I'm happy to report that we have bats flying around over our yard and house every night in the summer- I'm not sure how far into spring and fall their season extends. Their presence makes me feel the micro local ecosystem has some integrity. Which reminds me of the annoyance I felt when I was...

    Flying squirrels

Matias, it is wild how they fall out of trees when semi frozen, only to wake up unharmed when the weather warms. When I'm in S FL, boca raton, I see them quite often in the jungly parks and riverine environments.

Well said, KB. Meanwhile, as the saying goes, ya can't make this shii up; some Jan 6 rioters are suing the gov't and more are prepping to do so. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/19/us/politics/ashli-babbitt-jan-6-settlement-trump.html?unlocked_article_code=1.Ik8.Kkl0.SlUUjheqMP5t&smid=url-share

I dig your sentiments overall but for the sake of discussion, when hundreds or thousands of people sleep in the street causing the 'hood to be trashed and unsafe for the housed locals, that don't seem right. Not that I have the solution but just saying.

    Flying squirrels

Tree frogs are another really cool critter that I would never see if it weren't for treework. They stay well up into the canopy and their camo is basically perfect.

    Flying squirrels

There's probably a way for Kevin to gift the article but anyway I read it and the bottom line is leave standing snags as is whenever possible bc that's where most of them live. I've seen 8 or 10 over the years, always while doing tree work, would basically never see them otherwise. Although one...

Omg that must be comfortable during the holidays, lol. Just curious, they are MAGA but your wife is not? It is a weird concept tho, bright people who are MAGA. Currently, the one MAGAt I talk to is saying 'give it time, he know what he's doing'

    How's the work flow?

8 weeks is rad. I usually hated being out more than 6 weeks bc so many things often change by the time you get to those who have waited 2 months. Plus, most people won't wait that long ime.
