    15XP vs 15XPC

My 2011 F150 gets Yeah I’m a little bummed out with the prices. I really want a winch, which would increase 5K on top of that, it’s pretty ridiculous. For the price of a chipper you could borderline buy a good used grapple truck.

    15XP vs 15XPC

Can’t believe the 15 XP is at $3000 upgrade. Everyone was telling me it’s 8 to $10,000 more. Somebody was telling me they thought the 6.2 was actually a more fuel efficient V8 for a chipper. I wonder if the bigger drum uses less fuel for chipping brush vs the smaller drum on the XPC.

    15XP vs 15XPC

Just quoted today 61.5k for a 165hp 15XPC with a 40 gallon fuel tank, clear curtains, double teeth on the bottom feed wheel, fuel saver, and a spare tire. NO Winch. The same build for the 15XP was 64.2k. Literally a $3000 difference to get the 15 XP. Not really adding up to me, unless they’re...

    Soil drench versus trunk injection?

So are there any case studies/actual scientific research that anyone can cite that shows testing between soil drench and trunk injections for effectiveness? Mostly pertaining to borers. The more I ponder soil drenching, especially in some of our sandy soil’s in Tulsa, the more I wonder about...

    15XP vs 15XPC

Why is it everyone buys the 145hp and not the 6.2 165hp gasser on the 15XPC that bandit options?

    2020 VS 2021

We are having a pretty good season after 2.5 years in business, 4-5 days a week since April, but after running the numbers, we are only up 20% since last year. $147k and am projecting 175k for this year with me and 1-2 other guys.(80% of the year it has been only me and a ground hand). Was...

    15XP vs 15XPC

Great info! I really only need a 12XP, but I figure I should just upgrade to the 15XPC. 15XP being over kill for us. Did that run you around 55k?

    What’s Your SMALLER Equipment Setup?

So really it just started with me knowing tons of tree stuff haha. I have been a Certified Arborist for 5 years, and have studied the last 5 years to gain my BCMA. I will be taking the BCMA in 2-3 weeks. I have a library with all 32 books for that exam, so if any company asks me a tree...

    What’s Your SMALLER Equipment Setup?

So it depends on the week but I would say 70% of it is pruning. The rest is composed of soil remediation/root work, construction protection planning, tree lightning protection system, tree supplemental support systems, tree appraisals, general tree health consulting/diagnosis, and soil testing...

My mill guy just made me some 16 foot red Oak slabs for that very reason. We will be mounting them later this week!

    What’s Your SMALLER Equipment Setup?

My company’s current set up. We will be adding a 15XPC next Spring. I run a 2 guy operation which consists of me and another ground guy/climber. We deal primarily with tree preservation,” as 2% of our sales were removals last year”. This year we will gross around 170k with our non payroll...

    15XP vs 15XPC

I am setting our goals for next year and we are pretty sure a 15” chipper is what we want. We work primarily residential, and about 5% of our sales this year have been removals, “we are a tree preservation company“. Honestly we only need a 12 XP as that would be suitable for all of our work, but...

    Does Morbarks paint just suck?

Why is it that all the used red Morbark chippers look so crappy after a few years compared to all the other machines? Is it because they seem to be more common up North where they used road salt? Does their paint process just suck? Brush Bandit uses Imron I know.

    Starting A Business

Yep that’s what I did. 2% of our sales here in Tulsa consisted of removals last year. About 8 tree service/care company’s in town send consistent work to us because they know we know our stuff, and because we do all of the “arborist stuff” no one else is doing. Niche market for sure. Best part...
