Card magicians may practice in front of camera for years until so smooth/slow motion perfect even camera cant catch the obvious; let alone the eye.
You can watch the silky smooth ballet of moves and swear the slow is fast, as is sooooo clean...

This thread is titled tip tied, as drifts into...
With hitchpoint near CoG, butt tie tag line gives very good control as the sides ballast each other some and have a lever to command rest. Tag line Prussic to the load leg is more center mast , near CoG and bends that line only , not so much tipping heavy end up over something etc. But...
To me that is the added co$t of conversion from 1:1 to 2:1/transmission gearbox .
>>where you get the work done + cost of inefficiency as tax of usage.
Note that tho the efficiency drops below potential of 2x to 1.65 etc.
>>the 2:1 remains in the distance pulled as input vs. work distance...
Will draw those 2 out of myself to increase the deck of cards have to offer, ty.
>>more cards, the more ways to play the hand as dealt.
>>usually each exercised well enough to be able to quickdraw them like slick gunsman; otherwise sleep silently holstered once polished clean.
Usually allow...
Moving from vertical to horizontal(increase sine) is increasing leveraged load during handling on hinge/rig vs. horizontal tipping down/or up(increase cos) is relief of same leveraged(sine) load as very separate functions or phases. Another separate stage from other aspect is separation of pre...
The work done is equal, of same achievement that itself takes matching effort_X against to overcome.
DdRT just more in powerband due to the 'transmission' gear shift to 2:1;
@co$t of more friction for the redirect arc that SRT doesn't have.
So i kinda would vote for more total effort in DdRT due...
Solar Plexus as Center of Gravity/workload.
Keep it close to rope/lift line, more work the farther CoG drifts from rope.
.
Leg push as a compression inherently tries to move CoG away from rope.
>>Arm pull as a tension inherently tries to move CoG into the rope>>but is less efficient...
i always thought soft, everlasting, non-corrosive adhesive between legs to eye, then hand sewn would be answer.
Where the adhesive kept it in place and the stitchings would just assure the positioning of the adhesive and mated parts w/thread as a 2nd stringer, not main force incurred.
As like...
i picture an Aristotle, Einstein or Hawkins etc. as of brains working so hard;
"head grew heavy and sight go dim"
as lots of actual calories burn hard in thought, possibly heating a room/as like any other machine.
This continues even as eyes close, and things still being sorted, answers found...
Wow, 3 wraps Natural fiber shows as 10x the stopping power for a Round Turn @540degrees on wood vs. nylon on aluminum on chart.
We called the drop/delivery zone as the KZ that no one was to be in.
choked/girthed to carabiner is nice;
but at a loss of 'free ranging' of natural rotation of sling to even wear,
and self adjusting for evenly loaded support legs as changes angle thru rig movement ;
and then also displacing more easily the stiffer 'seam' of the Standing Part from the 90 degree...
i think that at one time there was no mathematics; until drew together the commonalities of what the baker, cashier, builder etc. used in their day to then sift out the common architecture of math we have today. Kinda not the sweat arbo's envision as work to move ball forward; but yet the ball...
@Tom Dunlap sig.
i can understand what you are saying here over the years, and seen some reasons for it.
.
But what do you call it when tracing down knots, mechanix etc. for 20,30,40 yrs relentlessly and sift linked common principles across all, even from different fields for ages of aha's...
i think simple multiplier would be proportional as say;
but, much of this has at least 1 factor that goes beyond with squaring or other exponential expansion.
.
As like i think that in E=MCsquared
Mass is a multiplier expansion of more predictable proportions
but the C is on beyond simple...
Foot ascender thinning rope under hitch can also remove the mushroom swell shelf below hitch from going from loaded to unloaded profile, as sometimes a safety issue.
Captive eyes do present fault of looking like on carabiner correctly when not;
where w/o captive eye would disarm/fall off.
They do allow more self adjusting position to equalize and rotation to even wear;
where tied/sewed on for same approximate captive purpose does not.
This high kick thru...
