There are test kits available for field diagnosis of phytopthera, I have an email link to a supplier, Horti International (I dont think they have a website) that is local to me in Vancouver BC, if anyone wants it, pm me.
FWIW the head of PNW chapter is Julian Dunster, of Bowen Island BC. Here is the link to the rest of the crew from the chapter if that helps you out.

SRT, what park were you in? I have wondered what response would be like around here for tree practice.
I am also in Burnaby, send me a PM some day, I am always on the lookout for companies / people to work with.
cool beans RB, Robert and Ox... did you have to sign up with actors guild? I worked at a nursery a few years back, a big bank did a commercial there and used some staff as walk through extras. they got days pay and residuals after. was nice to see those hundreds of dollars check every few months...
Kathy, seriously, I am no climber... yet.
but I did enjoy meeting / watching you and Dan and the rest of the gang in Victoria last year. I will try to make it down for this years thing but not sure if its going to happen.
I am surely saving a lot of seashells for hawaii 07, hope to see you out...
ahhh. now I see.
I took a prep course locally, 5 weeks, 2 nights a week for 4 hours each. was a lot of help especially in the domains I had no experience in. but, I had to pay out for mine, no hours of payback, just cold hard cash up front.
hope your program works out!
I finally took the time out to watch the slideshow. good stuff, lots of great shots and a few friendly faces from the various forums.
see y'all next year in Hawaii!
