    Mileage reimbursement

Are you getting $5/hr all the time, or just while you're driving? If it's just while you're driving then it's a major ripoff. If you do 30 miles in an hour you should get approx $15 for that, and instead you're getting $5. love nick

Favorite methods for through-cable hole alignment

I once illuminated the Hollywood sign from Kenneth Hahn park at dusk. That's gotta be 6-7 miles as the crow flies! love nick

    Amazon.com selling tree work?

This system can totally work. Just bid high! But seriously we bid a lot of jobs from pics and satellite images. We rarely get screwed and when we do, it's not by much. love nick

I find the eye-ball method works pretty sweet. Laser works until you drop a $400 laser out of the tree. love nick

    Mileage reimbursement

One of our guys just started doing this for us. We haven't hashed out the details in mind. But I think it should be way hire than normal. I'll probably give him 1.5x the government rate. love nick

    Mileage reimbursement

Keep in mind the IRS rate isn't a law in any sense. It's a suggestion. A few years ago an employer challenged me to prove that the rate should be 51¢. (That's what it was at the time) I spent 2 days calculating everything from fuel, initial purchase, insurance, maintenance, etc and the most...

    Root Collar Excavation

Just saw this one today. I've had a bit of experience with root pruning. I feel confident making decisions about what can't and can be cut. But this one I was like "there's nothing you can do." love nick

    Root Collar Excavation

Just depends. Some trees you can really go nuts on. Some you gotta use kid gloves. love nick

    Yep, palm. Any advice?

This is gold right here. We do quite a few palms. We never use spikes on them. If it's a queen palm that can be done from the ground or a ladder with a pole saw- that's $25-75. If we have to climb it's likely gonna be $200-300. If the client says their guy can do it for $75, I explain what...

    The Games Customers Play

I do the same technique. If I give a low price for add on items, I'll put "price assumes crew is already on site doing other work." love nick

    The Games Customers Play

I love when they try to deduce an hourly rate based off snippets I'll say...then try to use that against me later to get a better price on more complicated things. love nick

    Using tablets while making estimates

Not gonna lie. That was a pretty good answer and does clear up a misunderstanding I had. Still though, jobber ftw love nick

    Using tablets while making estimates

What does your program do that's so above and beyond the competition. We use jobber for about $50 a month. Did I see right that the cheapest version of arbor gold is approx $1400 a month? What is AG doing that is 28x better than other options on the market? love nick

    Using tablets while making estimates

I do it. It's tedious typing on an iPad into Jobber. Get yourself a Bluetooth keyboard and you'll love life so much more. We've noticed a higher rate of bid approval on quotes that are received moments after the consult. love nick
