    I was thinking the sames thing. I often use a newer version of that linkbelt. 115' is more like 5k Unless you add wieght to make it a 90t or 120t.

    For sure. I operated and climbed using our boom truck with no LMI for years with no incidents. You do get a "feel for it". But that is something you can not teach in an article or presentation.

    Thanks for the comments. To address your consern on rented cranes and operators I could have mentioned that " In my experiences and many others" For myself in my Chicago market the operators we hire are from Union componies and rarely do tree removal, that is also very common in other markets...

    It was a great comp. All the volenters did great, thank you. The competition was tough , lots of good climbers. I am quite proud of my co-workers. Kramer Tree had 4 of the top six.

    PMI Ropes

    At that time I was using a Cinch as an adjuster. Trango's info sheet said to only use with dynamic rope. I did notice a bennefit when on a spar. The rope absorbed some energy of sitting into the lanyard instead of your body absorbing the energy.
