    Lanyard Combo

    I've been using a 20' kermantle lanyard with a hitch on a pinto for the last 3 years. I like the rigidity of the kermantle when ascending on a sterm, it flip verry well. I'm a pretty heavy climber 220 so for me keeping the weight to a minimum is very important and mechanicals adds extra pounds...

    Last time I went to Burlington I was amaze by the trees , somes really nice oak , carya and big white pine by the lake. Just wondering... do you accept French Canadian in your wreck climb? If so I'm in! haha

    I went climbing today , -12 celcius + 3 feets of snow + 2 month on the couch = feel like a beginner. But I saw a nice barred owl. I took the time to post info on the climbing log. I hope to put Quebec on your diagram 1 tree at the time!

    This guy got high level rigging skills. Nothing to fancy , not a lot of gadget but he know all the tricks. fun to watch. I work with a climber like that it's make you bring your A game.

    Removal technique suggestions?

    Like every one else said , it's tuff to know if there is big cavities or roots damage etc... on photo. But if not you need 3-4 chainsaw cut to reduce the tips that goes over the house and 40' of branch saver 4 tons. I would do everything to have a oak like this in my yard. Have fun.

    Who's a self taught climber?

    I'm so far from being self taught! In Quebec we are pretty lucky , I've been to school and have perform a climbing arborist degree. wich is 900 hours of practice , theory , about every things from climbing , srt acces , rigging force , bio mechanic , biology , tree preservation , tree ID etc...
