    Thanks for the info guys. I have successfully completed a 4" eye splice on Yale Dynasorb and a tight carabiner eye on Samson stable braid; 5/8" and 1/2" respectively. When I get the pictures uploaded I hope you guys will tell me what you think.

    Thanks for all the advice guys. I ended up getting a set of fids from Samson. I'm going to start out with that and make some wire fids out of piano wire and see where I end up.
