yea for sure, already loaded the pickup. Once I found out my buddy there has a kubota mini ex leased that my buckets and grapple fit, that made up my mind to drive. Gonna need to find some good podcasts now...

Which to choose? Compact utility tractor VS Mini Skid VS Gehl

Kinda funny we all use the term "butter" for the chips/dust on dry asphalt... I've been working with a guy that has a full size skid with a ryan's grapple and winch. Pretty awesome to have the winch on there but that attachment is stupid heavy. I'm very much preferential to the mini excavator...

Heading that way in the next day or two, we have a house near Boone that by all reports is OK but the property is a mess. Finally getting in touch with friends and neighbors there and it sounds like utter devastation in many areas. Hopefully this next storm misses them, there's no way they can...

@levi r What motor is in the isuzu? Do you tow a chipper too? Always loved cabovers, drove a Fuso everyday in another line of work but worry about the power when loaded/towing. Wish they sold the FTS (i think?) over here, saw them everywhere over in Aus. 26k 4x4 cabover is my dream

    Saw preference?

2nd that Keeth, had the original 550xp ported w/ a 20" 3/8. Sweet crane saw, not to big to hang on the belt for scrambly brush picks but tons of snort to cut over bar length wood. Now i have the mk2, also hotrodded and its a touch heavier but hot starts alot better

How to get reasonably priced lumber for timber framing in NC?

Very well may be, these Murdock's are over near Raleigh though (close to OP). If it was in WNC I know several sawmillers up that way

How to get reasonably priced lumber for timber framing in NC?

I did some work for Jack up at a place near Boone a few years back. He might be a good resource for you... https://www.ncsawmill.com/contact-us/

Termite activity or carpenter ant on white pine

I've seen lots of white pines fail that were full of carpenter ants, many with no outward sign of decay or ant infestaion. White Pine are weak wooded when healthy and are bad to catch wind and snow loads in the dormant season. Unless it is not a threat to any real targets I would not trust it...

    Echo 2500T long term review

Also a good option. I've done both and find it easier to drill and buy off the shelf chains

    Echo 2500T long term review

Monkeybeaver is the only one I know of, but I believe they're out of stock. I have the panther kit on one of mine, the other I run a stihl bar (ms150 or power pruner), just have to drill another hole for the adjuster.

bandit 200 feed wheel torque arm purpose

I no longer have the bandit, iirc i cut the new peice to have about an 1/8" of play in either direction. Landmark machinery might have a new part for you, worth a call.

    Ms261c

Agreed, the 200i (what they should call it) would take my money, and I am much more of a husky guy. Still have a soft spot for 020t/200t but that's a pretty glowing recommendation for the new 540. Had one of the originals and it was a nice saw when it would start...
