You get what you pay for and what you are willing to sacrifice. In this industry to get something you give something. If you want a truck that can haul the wood out you need a bigger truck which typically means less turning radius. -

Crazy r/c cranes
This was amazing! LOL'd at the HIAB and noises at 8:47 and 21:84. Man it sounded and looked so realistic with the engine noises. This was great thanks for sharing. -

Which engine n chassis'd be best suited for mounting the crane behind the cab, and having a decent dump box n chipper towing capacity? Jemco Chassis model aside my advise is don't get locked into a specific engine that is only serviceable from the manufacturer so you are forced to go to that... -

This is a nice little package with a fairly large crane for such a light truck. The only thing I would suggest is not using a cabover chassis for this configuration. One day the truck will not start and with the crane parked directly over the cab how will you access the engine? I know it seems... -

Yes I agree and I would suggest you do not consider it if this is the case. The dynamic stresses on such narrow diameter final extensions on a knuckleboom with a flyjib would eventually be structural failure with a fixed rotating grapple device.. The twist forces if you do something even... -

It looks almost like a Vosch grapple that's been modified to fit on a knuckleboom. Typically these are used for excavators. -

I can't speak for the USA but In Canada it's HIAB - Palfinger. Whatever you buy, purchase it from a reputable company as close to your company as possible. Don't purchase something from a company too far away to not be able to stand in your salesmans door and service department when something...
