    Lakeside Work

When we start a job and the minute it starts to leave a larger impact on a yard than I explained to the h.o then I immediately present the updated information to them and explain. Either we can pause your project until it dries out to complete the job under the conditions that was explained to...

    Looking at a Vermeer 552

I feel that green teeth chip containment is far worse than the yellow jackets and with the green teeth they claim you get 3 sides but I never seem to be able to achieve that vs yellow jackets I feel you get to full sides and they last a lot longer. The pockets also have more contact area with...

    Looking at a Vermeer 552

That’s crazy but I would bet that’s happened probably on every machine made. Crank broke in half and had to get a new engine. Cummins 4 cylinder problem not a Vermeer problem 2200 hrs and not even blew a hydraulic line 85hp non def also yellow jacket teeth are far superior compared to green...

    Bevel buddy

Definitely not as good as a factory edge, but last us 30 days. We chip a minimum of 25 yds a day. Always machine feed. So unfortunately more rocks and dirt go through then more than we like to admit. We have a large chipper so we can run our knives pretty dull. Brand new set of knives we get 3...

    Bevel buddy

I don’t think the pulling power changes and after three times of sharpening we put new knives on.

    Bevel buddy

Correct you sharpen the backside or flat side of a knife. Nice thing is you can do them on the chipper and only takes maybe five minutes.

Any experience with Morbark's new BVR chippers?

We love it once our knives are dull. We use it and on average it lasts one month you get three sharpens so the edge don’t last that long but a month but a month is a month and three months is three months.

Any experience with Morbark's new BVR chippers?

Don’t know anyone running one yet. I think that new line of chippers have only been out maybe a year now and the 18” had to be redesigned because they put a 6 knife drum vs 4 knife drum and now are going back to the 4 knives. The clutch system has been around for a long time it was on the rayco...
