I never have, but you could. With two climbing lines, you probably don't want to add a tether line - it turns into spaghetti pretty quick! The carabiner stays put with both lines weighted. As soon as tension is relieved on either line, it descends to you.
I don't disagree with any of your points. I don't use two ropes because I the rope isn't strong enough. The rope itself is probably the strongest, safest part of the system. I use the second bridge because I use two systems and it helps with the angles. I use two ropes because of the "what...
I will work on a picture for you, when I have it set up - are you interested in the bridge setup, or the saw/weight, rope grab and Druid? or both?
When I started I read an article about an arborist who was subsequently certified in rope access. He discussed the differences and the benefits of...
I'm not required to use two in my area. I always use two systems, unless I'm working a spar-type tree (conifer), or just working a small tree, like 20-25 feet up, and I can lanyard in on the way up. To your question, when ascending, I have found that if my saw is clipped to a hand ascender or...
I would recommend the raker (depth gauge) tools that only rest on one tooth and angles down to the strap. These allow each raker and it's tooth to be synced up, especially if the teeth are different sizes. The raker gauges that sit on two teeth are kind of "averaging" the raker height. I hope...
I agree with looking at what has changed. Do your glutes hurt just on spar/pole type climbing? or all (spreading) climbing. I prefer the side D's when spar/pole/flipline type climbing, and the lower D's for all other lanyard use. Did you used to use the side D's for lanyard?
I don't come from a tree climbing background, I come from a construction background. This is not a criticism, but the attitude that using a hand ascender is giving in is, in my opinion, an industry fault. I have the CT quickroll with a footstrap attached. I use it throughout the climb. I...
I purchased this rope new in the Samson bag last week. Took it for a climb base tied in a little Mulberry tree. I use a Camp Druid Pro descender and It uses too tight a bend radius for Samson mercury.. They did not play well together. the climb was about 30 minutes, and I ascended and was...
Am I correct that alot of the european gear is required to undergo testing that gear like the RR (USA only) does not?
I use some european gear that has available testing results for a static drop, for instance. I like this. I don't see it for USA only gear.
I'm not advocating for either...
the two spots are at 28' and 45'. If you are considering buying the rope, I can take more pics or video of the two spots, or entire rope and send them to you- I want whoever buys it to be satisfied. I changed to 11mm rope and I have two 1/2" ropes, so I'm trying to get some of my money back by...
this rope has two spots with the pictured wear- the rest is pristine. This rope was used 6 times. Every time with a friction saver and blake's hitch. Most of the rope looks like the last picture. Rope still has original taped ends (shown)
