    Opinions on Cuts

Snap cuts are only as good as the person making the cut. When done properly there is no better way to make a cut....move to a safe zone....position yourself in the best possible spot or descend completely out of the tree and escape the entire situation before detachment. A proper snap cut has a...

    more fun with knucklebooms

Both these cranes are still knocking out work! The 55 ton and the 175 ton. I’m adding a grapplesaw too sometime this year. I won’t use it all the time but I think in certain jobs it will be handy.

    175 Ton Knuckleboom

Hey my Treebuzz Friends! Good to see everyone doing well! I’ve been getting a lot of requests to bump these threads again. This crane is still killing it almost every day. Still the largest knuckle boom in the worlds tree care industry....at least for now. :)

Palfinger PK 92002 k-boom ready for WOC in Vegas

I'm suprised how often I can find a place to fully spread the super wide stabilizers.....seems like there is always a gate or gap between the house and garage or something. I remember looking at the specs on kbooms back in the day thinking....."well cant set that thing up on very many jobs"

    175 Ton Knuckleboom

yeah Mark I had to short the stabilizers on the house side. The far side of the tree was 2 houses away (half of this lot plus all the way across the neighbors lot and reached halfway across the lot behind that one.)

    opinions....best spider lift?

Thanks for all the replies. I was looking for something really in the 60' range. I like the CMC because of the compact size to side reach ratio. The cranes are doing great and can reach almost anything....and im still climbing productively but it would make things more Safe for me when im doing...

    Kboom vs. All terrain Crane??

The only reason OSHA has been nosing around New Jersey (and OSHA is just doing their job) is because there has been what about a dozen stick boom accidents there in the last year or two. None of these had anything to do with kbooms or remotes......and saying you couldn't operate from the tree...

    Kboom vs. All terrain Crane??

I would say one drawback to a k-boom is that at some point osha will stick there big nose in and make it illegal to operate the crane from the tree. You can take that to the bank. (as stated by 6t56). Why would an option that's proven to be very safe be taken away?? When I spoke at a...
