SLD? Rapid expansion due to gasses?

I think it was a pocket of decay. And just so you know, It’s been a long time since I took those pictures so, I may not have very good answers to questions about it BUT, This was a pretty small limb. Maybe 5-6” in diameter. I remember looking for a starting point of the decay and I looked for an...

SLD? Rapid expansion due to gasses?

Here’s a pecan limb that broke. Granted I think this happened in some above average winds but, it had some tension wood that just broke. It didn’t really seem like the fibers were healthy. It’s like they broke as if the tissue had become brittle. No external indicators that I know of.

Sold my skidder to buy a compact track loader

Concerning the Giant, If I’m reading these specs correctly, it’s only 43.3 inches wide as well. That would get you in and out of some tight spaces. I’ve been running a mini skid SK850 for a couple of years and after a main hydraulic drive motor problem, I'm looking into getting a second machine...

Giant mini articulating loader branch manager edition $35,000

I’ve seen these being listed as having a tipping capacity of close to 1900~lbs. this number seems like it’s more than what a 1050 is rated for. What has been your experience @Sfoppema ? Is there a weight kit that goes with these? Are parts for these generic or is there a a lot of proprietary...

    Alabama TCC results

There are a bunch of tree guys floating around the comp scene that do a lot of caving. I’m looking into incorporating a caving trip after the competition for those who want to do it. I personally have been wanting to bounce a pit but just haven’t had things line up right.

Not sure about spring but, As an option, we are looking at doing ALTCC in north AL sometime next fall. Mid-late October is great weather wise, barring a hurricane.

    Alabama TCC results

Here are the ALTCC results. There are lots of new guys that are in state. It wasn’t a huge comp by the numbers but, it was good. My goal for this is to get more and more AL people involved. It’s tough sledding as far as that goes but hopefully we’ll get there.

    New to big trucks

That a great option to have when purchasing a very expensive and critical piece of equipment. So, when buying, I guess the safest thing to do would be to be present when the oil is drawn from the motor, and send that off yourself. That way you don’t get into no funny games w ppl. What do you...
